Who Killed Pepi Pasceriello?!
Our University Programming Council gathered students in the red-lit ARMAH to figure out the Mafia Murder Mystery of Pepi, last Wednesday night. There was a host, from Neon Entertainment, who did an amazing job guiding the students through the plot. Throughout the event, the host dropped clues at each dinner table allowing the audience to ask the panel about their whereabouts the night of the murder. The students were given a blood-stained sheet of names and descriptions of the suspects as well as a mini sheet for the final verdict where we chose the killer and the motive. To compliment the Italian theme, Chartwell’s provided pasta options such as alfredo and spaghetti, dinner rolls, and side salad. Delicious, rich cupcakes were also provided as a dessert.
There was a tense but entertaining interrogation from the audience to the student actors and actresses who played the potential culprits. While they all sounded extremely guilty, they placed the blame on one another throughout the entire night revealing secrets and many clues during the interrogation. The talented actors and actresses were fully dedicated to their characters leaving the audience shocked to the plot twist reveal at the end. One of the best details of the production was that the student actors were unaware of who the killer was themselves.
The cast, better known as suspect list, begins with Pepi’s twin brother, Rocco (played by Isaiah Jones), who was dressed in a suit and tie, ready to take over the family business in Pepi’s stead. Rocco was accompanied by his beautiful but gold-digging fiancé, Tara (played by Jasmine Akarolo). In addition to these characters was Mama (played by Deja Carter) who was mourning the death of her husband, ready to clear her own name of the family scandals. Mama was joined by her and Pepi’s daughter, Angel (played by Ashia Moore), who brought her supportive and loving French boyfriend, Bo (played by Shelby Wellington). Angel and Bo primarily sought to mourn the loss of her family while simultaneously exposing their secrets. Last but certainly not least, the audience was introduced to Angel’s brother, Marco (played by Pauline Pascariello) who was known for not liking his family but continuing to do his part for the business while unafraid to share his suspicions with the audience.
This colorful cast not only brought the mystery to life with their incredible talent and skill, but truly made an evening that the audience is sure to never forget.
