#16 Men’s Lacrosse Sits at 5 and 1
Frostburg Men’s Lacrosse faced their first loss of the season this past Friday, April 2nd. This now brings their overall record to five wins and one loss (5-1).
The Men’s lacrosse team faced their hardest opponent yet, Seton Hill at Bobcat Stadium. Seton Hill is ranked #5 overall in the country, and the Bobcats were ranked #16. Unfortunately for the Bobcats, they fell in overtime by a score of 12-11.
In the first quarter of the game, Seton Hill put up four goals to the Bobcats three. In the second quarter, both teams scored 3 goals. In the third quarter, Seton Hill outscored the Bobcats with four goals, but in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats came back and put up five goals. In the end, Seton Hill scored the winning goal in overtime to secure the win.
This season the Bobcats get to prove just how good they are in Division ll. Since last season was shut down due to COVID-19, the men came out strong winning their first five games. In their first game against Walsh, they won 18-3. After that, they followed with two very close games against Lake Erie (12-11) and Chestnut Hill(10-8). The next two games were blowouts with both the scores being 21-4 against Molloy and Alderson Broaddus.
During this season so far, the Men’s lacrosse team has gone from being ranked 20th in the country to now being ranked 16th. Also, Jack Marks set a new program record for thirty-three career wins and Paul Ruppert scored his 100th career goal.
