Crime Lines 04/18/2023 – 04/24/2023 

04/20/2023  Assist Other Agency (FPD) - Officers responded to the Beach Club for a possible disturbance.  Upon arrival, the crowd was disbursing.  Officers stood by.  There were no active disturbances at this time.  FPD advised that while in route to the scene, he observed a possible assault victim walking on E. College Avenue.  Officers proceeded to assist at the intersection of Maple Street and E. College Avenue to speak with several individuals.  Upon arrival, it was learned that there was an assault that occurred within the Beach Club. It appeared the victim had a small cut above his left eye with minor swelling surrounding the cut.  The individual, an FSU student, admitted he had a “fake ID.” The individual denied any medical treatment however he was provided an ice pack by FSUPD for the swelling.  The assault remains under investigation by FPD.  Judicial Board Referral Submitted.  

04/20/2023  Hit & Run Officers responded to Edgewood Commons upper lot for a reported hit and run.  Contact was made with the complainant who provided officers with a photo of his vehicle and the suspect’s vehicle touching front ends while stationary in the Edgewood parking lot.  The complainant explained that he arrived at his vehicle and observed the suspect’s vehicle parked against his vehicle.  He moved his vehicle, the suspect’s vehicle drifted forwards striking his vehicle.  He then moved his vehicle again and the suspect’s vehicle again drifted forwards, striking his vehicle.  Contact was made with the suspect who stated that his vehicle may have drifted into the other vehicle, but he was unaware at the time he parked his vehicle.  

04/20/2023  Assist Other Agency (FPD) - FSUPD responded to Frost Hall, to assist (FPD) issue a civil citation to a resident of the dormitory.  An FSU student was issued a civil citation for underage possession of alcohol as a result of the incident that occurred early this morning at the Beach Club.     

04/20/2023  Suspicious - Officers responded to the area in front of Cumberland Hall for a suspicious male who was pacing back and forth in front of the dorm and looking in windows.  Contact was made with the subject who advised he was waiting on a friend to come out of Cumberland Hall so they could walk to Domino’s.     

04/21/2023  Assist Other Agency (FPD) - After learning FPD’s phone lines were down, a 7-11 employee requested an officer for a male subject in his vehicle for over an hour.  FSUPD arrived on scene and attempted to wake the subject.  Once the subject, not an FSU student, was awake and opened the door of the vehicle, an odor of alcohol was detected.  FPD arrived on scene and handled the investigation.   

04/23/2023  Breaking and Entering - Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a reported breaking and entering.  Investigation continuing. 

04/24/2023  Bomb Threat – Officers were notified of a bomb threat that was received by the FBI and forwarded to FSUPD from MCAC.  The received threat was reported, to be posted in a Yik Yak Community Group.  Evacuation of the Lane Center was executed as well as CCIT and the Library due to close proximity.  K-9 unit from MSP and the Office of the State Fire Marshall arrived on scene and conducted a scan of the outside of Lane Center, interior first and second floors with negative results for explosive devices.  The investigation is being handled by C3I.  A suspect has been identified in Alabama. 

04/24/2023  Hit & Run– Officers met with an FSU student at police Headquarters advising that her vehicle was struck while parked in the PE Center parking lot.  There was damage to the driver’s side rear fender and bumper area.  Fresh paint transfer was also visible in the same area.  Camera footage is being reviewed.  Investigation continuing.  

Summary period includes 102 calls for service and 8 traffic stops
