Crime Lines 04/11/2023 – 04/17/2023

04/11/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to the Hurry Back for a disturbance on the inside. Upon arrival, two subject were with FPD on the outside of the bar. Both were identified. The female was a former employee at the bar and returned to settle an issue with the current bartender. It was alleged that the female pushed the bartender several times. Officers stood by with the female subject until she was picked up by a family member to ensure there were no further issues. The disturbance did not involve FSU students.

04/11/2023 Fire – Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab for a reported fire. Upon arrival, officers entered the building with a command staff member of the Frostburg Fire Department. As they entered the building, there were no active audible or visual fire alarms. As there was an afterhours event taking place, guests in the lobby area were asked to evacuate the building. Once arriving at the lab, officers observed a 150 mL beaker on fire. The fire was contained only to the beaker of ethanol. A metal baking sheet was located nearby and utilized to extinguish the fire. There were no other issues at this time. Officers and fire department personnel cleared, and normal activities were resumed in the building.

04/11/2023 Assist Other Agency (FFD / FPD) – Officers responded to Grant Street to assist FPD and Frostburg Fire with an outside fire. Upon arrival, officers conducted traffic control at the intersection of S. Grant Street and Hill Street until the fire department concluded their investigation. There were no issues during the incident.

04/13/2023 Request For Officer – Officers responded to Westminster Hall to check on a group of subjects that may have been arguing and possibly intoxicated. The RA stated the group of individuals were initially observed between Chesapeake and Annapolis Halls and then proceeded to enter Westminster Hall. Officers conducted a foot patrol on each floor of the building and did not hear or observe any disturbances taking place. Officers cleared as there were no disturbances taking place.

04/15/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD assisted with a traffic stop on University Drive at Braddock Road. During the traffic stop, officers printed a written warning through E-TIX for FPD as their printer was malfunctioning. FSUPD stood by for the duration of the traffic stop. No further action was taken by this officer.

04/15/2023 Disturbance – Officers were requested to respond to the Stadium for a disturbance caused by a rowdy spectator. After arriving at the Stadium, staff approached officers and they were able to identify the spectator. Officers performed a walkthrough of the area and did not observe any belligerent behavior. Officers remained on scene to keep order and no further disturbances occurred. Once the men’s lacrosse game concluded, officers escorted the referees to the locker room, as well as their vehicles. No issues during the escort.

04/16/2023 Damage to Property – Officers responded to the Sand Spring lot at Brownsville Hall for a report of a property damage accident between a 2021 Toyota 4Runner and a fire hydrant. Contact was made with the driver, an FSU student. The extent of the damage to his vehicle was isolated to the front bumper and right, front quarter panel. There was paint transfer on the vehicle’s bumper from the fire hydrant, however the fire hydrant did not appear to be damaged.

Summary period includes 97 calls for service and 14 traffic stop.
