February 12 – February 18
2/12/14 Hit & Run: Student reported a hit and run that occurred to his vehicle. The vehicle was damaged in the parking lot between Westminster Hall and the State Street Lot of Frostburg State University.
2/12/14 Information: Police were made aware that the FSU student was wanted on an arrest warrant with the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. Contact was made with the student who responded to police where he was placed into custody, The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office responded and transported the student to the District Court Commissioner.
2/12/17 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab at 301 Braddock Rd for and unauthorized entry. Maintenance staff was found to be on scene.
2/12/14 Assist Other Agency: Police were dispatched to East College Avenue to assist FPD with a report of a large party. FPD officers issued one municipal infraction for excessive noise.
2/13/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Annapolis Hall, for a report of an odor of marijuana. Two subjects were issued criminal citations for possession of marijuana. RD on duty notified. Judicial referrals were submitted for all subjects.
2/13/14 Liquor Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Diehl Hall, after receiving a complaint from the Resident Director who advised there was a male student who appeared to be intoxicated walking throughout the building. Student was issued a civil citation for underage possession of alcohol and was escorted back to his dorm room. RD was on scene J-Board report sent.
2/14/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted Frostburg City Police & Frostburg Fire Department with a house fire (student rental) at 144 Bowery St. Frostburg.
2/14/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to a possible CDS call at Westminster Hall. A small amount of CDS was found, no criminal charges will be filed, however a judicial referral was submitted.
2/15/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 155 Wood Street for a report of a loud party. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police were already on scene.
2/15/14 Check on Well-Being: Police were dispatched to Cumberland Hall, for a check on well-being. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the residents all occupants in the room appeared to be fine.
2/15/14 Hit & Run: Police were called to investigate a possible hit and run incident in the State Street Parking Lot. No injuries were reported.
2/16/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Wildthings, Bowery Street, for a possible fight in progress. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police were already on scene.
2/16/14 Ordinance – Open Container: Officers on patrol an unmarked unit driving down Wood Street observed a male subject holding a blue solo cup. Subject was identified to be a Cumberland Hall resident and was issued a civil citation for open container.
2/16/14 Noise Complaint: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for a noise complaint. Source of the noise was located and residents were asked to keep the noise down. They complied.
2/16/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers made contact with Frostburg City Police on Bowery St. in reference to two pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle. Officers assisted Frostburg City Police with interviewing a male subject who was one of the victims of the hit and run. Frostburg City Police is handling the investigation.
2/16/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to the 200 block of Center St. for a fight in progress at the request of Frostburg City Police. Upon arrival, officers met with Frostburg City Police who were talking with a large group of students. There was no fight, that a party at 212 Center St. had just shut down for the night and the crowd was leaving.
2/16/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers while on patrol were flagged down by the property owner of 144 Bowery Street, advising that a vehicle is blocking the driveway, adjacent to the residence. Frostburg City Police was advised of the complaint.
2/16/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to the area of 131 Wood St. to assist with a possible structure fire at that location. Upon arrival, as there was sufficient manpower on the scene, officers proceeded to the intersection of E. College Ave. and Center St. to detour westbound College Ave. traffic, as fire apparatus was staged on E. College Ave. at Wood St. Contact was made with Frostburg City Police who advised that a fire extinguisher was discharged somewhere within the building and triggered the fire alarms, prompting an emergency fire response. He confirmed there was no fire in the apartment building.
02/17/14 Fire Alarm: Officers responded to Frederick Hall for reported fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, tenants of the resident hall were evacuating the building. It was discovered that a steam pipe had burst on the first floor, releasing a significant amount of steam, triggering fire alarm activation. The Frostburg Fire Department, along with F.S.U. Engineering Staff determined that the building was safe and the fire alarm was reset. All emergency responders cleared while engineering staff remained on scene.
2/18/14 Theft: Student reported her FSU student parking pass was stolen from her parked vehicle in the Center Street lot.
2/18/14 Alarm: Police received an alarm notification for the Appalachian Lab, at 301 Braddock Rd, for an unauthorized entry. Officers responded and observed a large group of students leaving the building. The door was held too long, setting off the automatic alarm.
2/18/14 Request for Officer: Sowers Hall Resident Assistant reported a suspicious odor in room 108. Officers responded to the area and no odor was detected. The room was unoccupied. No further police action taken.
