A Little Rain Won’t Stop Us

On Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 the annual Frostburg Block Party was held on Main Street, and, despite the rain, proved to be the good time it has come be known as. The event began at 6 p.m., was slightly interrupted due to weather, then carried on until dark. The block party, which was free and open to the public, was attended by Frostburg State University students as well as locals from surrounding communities. SafeRide provided transportation to students between campus and Main Street.

“I love going every semester,” says Delron Glave, junior Mass Communications major. “I love being engulfed in the culture and community of Frostburg.”  Local vendors, including Rita’s, Kona Ice, and Gianni’s sold food and beverages to attendees, while student groups like The Creative Communication Club, EchoStars, and the Rugby Team, Greek organizations like Pi Lambda Phi and SAI, and department organizations like the Frostburg Theatre department, had information booths and fun activities for people to participant in.

Ray Sorenson, junior, who had been working the event with the Technical Services Crew  since 4 p.m. said, “[The Block Party] always has a lot of fun, cool things to do and the organizations and businesses provide a good time for all the students.”
