Alpha Sigma Tau (AST) is a social sorority on the Frostburg campus. As a part of Alpha Sigma Tau’s national philanthropic mission, they created a Women’s Wellness Week to provide events that would benefit all students and members of the off-campus community. According to their website, “Alpha Sigma Tau’s National Philanthropy is the Women’s Wellness Initiative. The Initiative empowers Alpha Sigma Tau members to improve women’s wellness through service activities and projects.”

Starting on Tuesday, AST hosted a night of Zumba in LUC Atkinson where men and women from all around campus had fun while participating in a healthy physical activity with friends. There was an instructor who explained what to do and supported the participants.

On Thursday, there was a Dress for Success Clothing Drive where they collected donations of clothes. Friday was the Build Your Tribe event. During this event, women could meet other women and form healthy fresh relationships. AST is dedicated to helping women and the community as a whole. They provide opportunities to try new things and give people safe places to engage in activities that could better their lives as a whole. AST’s Women’s Wellness Week may be over, but their impact will last for a long time to come.
