Basketball Update

So far this season, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams have been busy on the road and at home. The 2018-2019 season will conclude the time that Frostburg State University has competed at the Division III level within the NCAA.

The women’s team is currently 14-6 overall with their record. Within the Capital Athletic Conference, their record is 6-4. They started off the season in November earning a 59-41 win against Lebanon Valley College. The women also earned two additional wins during the annual Jim Crawley Classic hosted in the Bobcat Arena against the City College of New York (67-44) and Mount Aloysius College (72-46).

Throughout the season thus far, the Bobcats have earned wins against non-conference opponents such as Chatham University (66-64), Juniata College (56-52), Wilson College (76-33), Catholic University (61-36), and Mount Aloysius College, after playing them for the second time (74-62). Once conference games started, the Bobcats earned wins against University of Mary Washington (54-40), St. Mary’s College of Maryland (60-55 and 79-49), Penn State Harrisburg (74-57), Salisbury University (56-52), and Southern Virginia University (72-67).

The CAC tournament begins on Tuesday, Feb. 19 with the quarterfinals. Prior to the first round of the tournament, the Bobcats will play Penn State Harrisburg, Christopher Newport University, York College, and Salisbury University, each for the second time this season.

The men’s basketball team has also been competing well throughout this season. Their current overall record is 10-11, while their CAC record is 6-4. The men have earned wins against Cheyney University (68-64), Penn State Altoona (91-78), Bridgewater College (79-74), Eastern Mennonite University (89-75), University of Mary Washington (87-77 and 90-70), St. Mary’s College of Maryland (82-69), Southern Virginia University (72-69 and 89-76), and Salisbury University (97-86).

Prior to the CAC tournament beginning, the Bobcats will play Penn State Harrisburg, Christopher Newport University, York College, and Salisbury University.
