Shimmy Like a Nupe is an event that gives the ladies of the university the chance to do their best stroll inspired by the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. The ladies were split into four teams and were guided by a member of the Lambda Mu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. The teams had to not only impress the audience, but also a panel of judges to see who would come out on top.

After weeks of practicing, the ladies came out with high energy, big stunts, and slick shoulders. The teams competed in two rounds. After the second round, the judges then picked two of the teams to move on to the final round.

Before the judges announced the two finalists and the final round took place, the audience was graced with a dance performance by Nelson Mswia, a student here at FSU. Not only did Nelson light up the floor with electrified moves, but the audience was also surprised with a special performance from the members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. from Howard University.

After the intermission, the judges announce that team Konceited and team Kapture would be going into the final round. The job of deciding who would win the final round was left to the audience. Both teams gave great and energetic performances to try and win the crowds vote. By the end of the final round the audience had been left jaw dropped and ready to vote. A poll was posted on the Lambda Mu Chapter’s Twitter account to get the audience’s decision. It turned out that team Kapture had the slickest shoulders and most captivating moves to win over the audience’s hearts.

We here at the Bottom Line would like to congratulate the ladies of team Kapture for coming out with the win. We would also like to congratulate each of the teams for practicing so hard and wowing us with such great performances. A special thanks goes out the ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. from Howard University for their performance. Lastly, we would like to thank the gentlemen of the Lambda Mu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. for putting together such a great show. We wish you luck with the rest of your semester and hope to see many more events from you gentlemen in the near future.
