Carmen Grimes and Joseph Yungen Perform at Pealer Recital Hall
On Dec. 1st at the Performing Arts Center, Carmen Grimes shared her talent at Frostburg State. She is from the clarinet studio of Dr. Mark Gallagher. The recital fulfills a requirement for a bachelors degree in music.
The first piece was “Pastorale Cevenole” by Louis Cahuzac. Joseph Yungen played the piano to accompany Grimes in the first piece. Towards the end of the song, she had a solo, and they joined back together ending a lovely piece.
The second song “Sonata for Clarinet and Piano” by Paul Hindemith Movement I and Movement III shared both high and low pitches, loud and soft moments. Hindemith is a German composer. He is a violinist, violist, teacher, and conductor. From Hanau, Germany.
After intermission, the next piece played by Carmen Grimes, by Kaimen Opperman, an American clarinetist and also a German composer as well as a Pianist, called “Un Seul” was very slow and settle.
The last piece was by Robert Schmann called “Fantasiestucke in A, Op. 73” and both Joseph and Grimes played together.
At the end of the show, she thanked everyone who came out near or afar.
