Clark Earns MEC Honors As Season Ends

Junior Braxton Clark earned Mountain East Conference Male Runner of the Week for the week of Oct. 21st- 25th. On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Frostburg State University (FSU) Cross Country team went to Wheeling, West Virginia to compete in the MEC Championships at the Oglebay Park of Wheeling. To add on to his list of accomplishments, in this meet, junior Braxton Clark finished the top 20 to put him on the All-MEC Second Team.

Frostburg Men’s Cross Country took 5th place in the MEC championship, improving on their meet last week where they came in 8th place. Clark was the top runner in every meet that Frostburg had this season, finishing in 20th place to complete the season. Clark completed the course in 28:04.54. The next FSU runner to cross the finish line was senior Jacob Rickards, in 28th place overall. Rickards completed the course in 29:05.97. The 3rd Bobcat to complete the 8k course was first-year runner Daniel Foster coming in 33rd place overall in 29:51.55. Senior Timothy Wolodkin was the next Bobcat runner to cross the finish line, coming in 37th place overall in 30:20.16. 2 places behind Wolodkin was senior Lorenzo Wilson in 39th place. Rounding out the Bobcat men runners were junior Devin Horseman-Guy in 45th place in 31:34.33, and sophomore Brennan Tomasonni finishing in 51st place in 33:12.83.

The Frostburg Women’s Cross Country team competed in a 6k that was held an hour before the Men’s 8k. Leading the women runners was first-year Isabel Pereira taking 55th place, crossing the finish line in 32:58.5. First-year Ariyana Ward came after her for Bobcat women finishing in 61st place in 35:30.0.

This was the completion of another great season that ended with everyone striving to do their best every time they touched the track. Now the off-season will provide both the men and women cross country teams with time to work hard and get even better for next year.
