Coast Guard Lt. Arrested Allegedly Planned Domestic Terrorist Attack
Coast Guard Lt. Christopher Hasson was arrested last week after a plan to conduct a wide-scale domestic terrorism act on the United States. Hasson is a self-proclaimed white nationalist who amassed an arsenal of 15 firearms and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition over the course of two years. Federal agents also found records during a search of Hassan’s house that he purchased thousands of pills of an unspecified narcotic.
Investigators discovered a spreadsheet on Hasson’s computer containing names of left-leaning media personalities and Democratic politicians. Among those included are Presidential-hopefuls Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, and Kirsten Gillibrand. Hasson carried out web searches on the best places to see Congressmen and the amount of security Congressmen and Supreme Court justices. Also found was an email draft from 2017 where Hasson wrote that he was, “dreaming of a way to kill almost every last person on the earth.” Hasson wrote in a separate email that the United States needed a “white homeland.”
Hasson was arrested on firearm and drug charges but the prosecution says it’s “just the tip of the iceberg.” Hasson’s attorney has downplayed the extent of Hasson’s arsenal, calling it “modest” in some parts of the country.
Hasson has followed Norwegian terrorist, Anders Breivik, who killed 77 people in his home country and routinely read the manifesto Breivik published.
Hasson first appeared in court Thursday where the judge gave the federal government 14 days to bring more charges against him.
