Crime Line 10/23 – 10/29

10/23/14 Hit and Run: Subject came into University Police to report another vehicle backed into his while parked in the Gunter Lot. Investigation continuing.

 

10/23/14 Request for Officer: An officer was dispatched to Dunkle Hall for a smoking complaint. The explained the smoking policy of the university.

 

10/23/14 Assault: Officers were with two juvenile subjects on College Ave.  One of the juvenile subjects kicked the other because “he thought it would be funny”. Officers then transported both subjects to their respective residences. Copy of report forwarded to juvenile services for disposition.

 

10/24/14 Assist Other Agency: Noise complaint across the street from 142 East College, Dispatch was advised a large party was in progress. Upon FSUPD arrival Frostburg PD was on the scene, due to the large number of people in the house and the fact that the residents were not being cooperative with officers, FSUPD stood by to assist.

 

10/24/14 Knock and Talk: 129 Wood Street, 24 Beall Street, 36 Charles Street, 151 Center, 40 Paul St, 156 Maple Street, 145 Wood Street

 

10/24/14 Assist Other Agency: Officer assisted Frostburg City police with a traffic stop at the corner of Braddock Road and Brady Street.

 

10/25/14 Traffic Arrest: Officers noticed a 2000 Toyota traveling south on Bowery Street. The radar unit locked the vehicles speed at 34mph in a posted 20mph speed zone. A license check through the MVA was done; the driver’s license came back as suspended through Maryland.  She was issued a notice of advice of rights to counsel on a standard form and two traffic citations.

 

10/25/14 CDS: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a reported CDS complaint.  Upon arrival, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from within the room, around the door seam.  A Frostburg State University Consent to Search and Seize form was explained to and signed by each resident. As a result of the search, officers did not locate any contraband within the room.

 

10/25/14 Alcohol Violation: A Cumberland Hall student was issued a citation for underage possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Judicial referral completed.

 

10/25/14 Alcohol Violation: Two Cumberland Hall students were issued citations for underage possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage.  Judicial referral completed.

 

10/25/14 Alarm: Employee reporting a trouble alarm sounding on the second floor of CCIT. Officers responded to silence alarm.

 

10/26/14 Alcohol Violation: An off campus student was issued 1 citation for underage possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage.  Judicial referral completed.

 

10/26/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg Police Department with an open container violation on Oak St. at Bowery St.

 

10/26/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 110 S. Broadway Apt. S, to assist the Frostburg Police Department with a reported noise complaint.  Officers made contact with residents of the apartment and dispersed the crowd, upon request. A resident was issued a civil citation, for the noise violation.

 

10/26/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted FPD on Wood Street with an intoxicated subject lying in the roadway.  The subject was not an FSU student.

 

10/26/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 19 Bobcat Court for a noise complaint it was unfounded.

 

10/26/14 Emergency Phone: A call was received from an elevator in Edgewood Commons. A subject was stuck in the left side elevator. Officers responded and the elevator was reset and was working properly again. Subject was able to get out of the elevator.

 

10/27/14 Breaking and Entering: A Cumberland Hall student reported that her Apple iPhone was taken from her dorm room without her permission and or knowledge. Investigation continuing.

 

10/27/14 Assist Other Agency:  Officers assisted Frostburg City Police with the transport of a subject in custody from Frostburg pool to FPD Headquarters.

 

10/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Noise complaint at 88 Park Ave. Frostburg City Police was notified.

 

10/28/14 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab, 301 Braddock Road, for an automatic security alarm for an “unauthorized entry” into the building. Officers responded and advised the alarm was set off by a window that was left open.

 

 

10/29/14 Request For Officer: Officers were called to Cumberland Hall, for a report of possible CDS.  The resident said that he had smoked marijuana earlier at a residence off campus. Judicial Board referral submitted.
