Crime Line 10/25 – 11/1

10/25/2018 – CDS Officer’s responded to Edgewood Commons for an odor of marijuana on the 2nd floor. Slight odor was detected in the hallway.  No marijuana detected in the reported room.

 

10/25/2018 – Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD in Roses parking lot with a two vehicle accident.  No injuries. FPD handled the information exchange.

 

10/26/2018 Assist other Agency –Assisted FPD at F-Bar for a disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene to find the owner requesting the establishment to be cleared out. He advised that a disturbance broke out inside the bar and approximately 30 subjects rushed the door and entered the bar without having ID’s checked. The owner advised the DJ would not stop playing music so he unplugged it and was shutting the bar down for the night. Officers cleared out the bar and the crowd dispersed the bar and property peacefully without incident.

 

10/26/2018 Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD on Welsh Hill.  Officers stood by while a large party dispersed.

 

10/26/2018 Damage to Property – Subject came into headquarters to report her vehicle had been keyed. The vehicle was viewed through the Occularis Video Surveillance showing the vehicle parked in Gray lot. The officer was unable to observe any suspicious circumstances, the vehicle is not always in full view due to other vehicles parking adjacent to her vehicle.  There is no further information at this time.

  

10/26/2018 Knock and Talk – Spoke to subjects at a business on College Avenue regarding being outside with open containers.

 

10/26/2018 Request for Officer – Officer’s were requested to Cordt’s PE Center for a report of several subjects who were disrupting an event and would not leave.   The subjects were gone on arrival.

 

10/26/2018 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Cordt’s PE Center for an odor of CDS.  Officers walked through the arena.  No odor was detected.

 

10/26/2018 Traffic Arrest – A traffic stop was conducted on Wood and Stoyer due to the vehicle traveling the wrong way on Maple Street.  The driver had a suspended license.  Two citations were issued.  The passenger had a valid license therefore was permitted to drive the vehicle from the scene.

 

10/27/2018 Community Policing – Officers observed a group of students walking in the middle of the roadway.  Contact was made and they were advised to walk on the sidewalk.  The group complied.

 

10/27/2018 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD with a noise complaint on Maple Street.  Officers stood by while subjects left the party without incident.

 

10/27/2018 Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD on Hill Street with a large party and noise complaint.  Officers stood by while FPD handled the investigation and the crowd was dispersed.

 

10/27/2018 Medical Emergency – County Dispatch called into HQ with a nosebleed at Frederick Hall.  Officers responded.  Subject refused to be transported.

 

10/27/2018 Request for officer – Officers responded to Chesapeake Dining Hall for a possible disturbance.  Upon arrival parties had left.

 

10/27/2018 Knock and Talk – Spoke to subjects on Stoyer regarding open containers in the street.

 

10/28/2018 Alcohol Violation – While patrolling on Bowery Street, two females were seen carrying a four loco can of alcohol, both were underage and were transported to HQ.  Legal guardians were contacted.  Both were issued juvenile citations.

 

10/28/2018 Medical Emergency – Officers were requested to Westminster for a subject with a head laceration from a possible fall.  Upon arrival the laceration was actively bleeding with pressure being applied. Subject possibly passed out thus resulting in the injury.  EMS arrived on scene and transported subject to WMRMC for treatment

 

10/28/2018 Medical Emergency – Subject was transported to WMRMC from Westminster Hall for abdominal pains.

 

10/28/2018 Suspicious – Officers responded to Cordt’s PE Center for a male subject in front of the locker room area.  Prior to officer’s arrival, the subject had left in a vehicle.  Officers conducted a search of the campus area however the subject was not located.

 

10/28/2018 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD on Main Street for a vehicle accident with power lines down.  Interviews were conducted and traffic control was provided.  Officers cleared once the vehicle was removed and the roadway reopened.

 

10/29/2018 Theft – Misdemeanor – Subject came into headquarters to report her dorm key and FSU ID was stolen from her room.  The investigation is continuing.

 

10/26/2018 Request for Officer – Officer’s responded to Cumberland Hall for a CDS Odor on the 2nd floor.  Officers reported faint odor in hallway but could not pinpoint a particular room.

 

10/26/2018 Check on Well Being – A Check on Well Being was requested by the Assistant VP for Student Affairs for a student who reportedly has not been in class for approximately 2 week.  After several attempts were made to locate the subject, she contacted FSUPD and informed dispatch that she had contacted FSU last week in regards to this situation.  Due to health reasons she has not been attending classes.

 

10/30/2018 Noise Complaint – Officers responded to Sowers Hall 1st floor for students being loud in hall.  Officers requested they disperse and keep noise down.  Students complied without incident.

 

10/30/2018 Request for Officer – Officers responded to steps between PAC and CCIT for a student who had fallen down steps.  She refused medical attention for her swollen ankle however requested a report be made.

 

10/30/2018 Vandalism – Officer’s responded to Dunkle Hall for a vandalism complaint of graffiti on the side of a sound panel.  Investigation was unable to determine how long ago the graffiti had been written on the sound panel and unable to identify a suspect due to an unknown time frame.  Graffiti was removed after photos were taken.

 

10/30/2018 Medical Emergency – Allegany County Dispatch advised an ambulance was being sent to CCIT for a female in the hallway for unknown causes.  The female had slurred speech.  Subject was transported to WMRMC.

 

10/31/18 Information: Officers investigated a vehicle with its trunk open in the Appalachian Laboratory parking lot. Contact was made with the owner who responded and reported no property was missing and that he may have inadvertently opened the trunk with his key fob.

 

10/31/18 Damage to Property: An FSU employee reported damage to the state vehicle he was driving. According to the driver, while driving to the Maryland State Police (Hagerstown Barrack) he noticed the bottom housing of his passenger side mirror was missing. When he arrived at the barrack he observed that an unknown person/vehicle had struck the mirror leaving damage and dark scuff marks. FSU Motor Vehicle Accident form completed.

 

10/31/18 Harassment: An on-campus student reported having issues with her roommate since the beginning of the semester regarding company in the room. Student advised she has spoken with Residence Life and will be moving to a different room. She did not wish to pursue any criminal charges. An FSUPD Refusal Form was completed. Student was given a Maryland Crime Victims pamphlet & explained how she could apply for a peace order. Judicial Board Referral submitted.

 

10/31/18 Liquor Law Violation. Officers observed a male subject walking on E. College Avenue, carrying an open bottle of Bud Light. Subject was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place. Subject is not a student at FSU.

 

10/31/18 Information: Anonymous caller reported a strong odor of marijuana in the Graphic Design classroom on the 3rd floor of the CCIT building. Instructor reported she did not smell it but did open a door and window.

 

10/31/18 Community Policing: Officers were flagged down by a pedestrian on E. College Avenue. The subject questioned officers about the increased police presence and the open container ordinance. The subject thanked officers and expressed his appreciation for law enforcement.

 

10/31/18 Knock & Talks: Officers spoke with residents on Maple & Wood Street, about open containers, underage drinking, public urination, and the noise ordinance.

 

10/31/18 Information: A pedestrian reported a truck hit a street sign on E. College Avenue across from the University Police building. Frostburg City Police were called and handled the incident.

 

10/31/18 Noise Complaint: Officers were dispatched to the 1st floor of Allen Hall for noise complaint. According to the Resident Assistant, he attempted to make contact with the residents of a 1st floor residence for loud noise. He stated that the residents mocked him and continued to be loud inside the room. Upon arrival to the 1st floor, officers were unable to locate the residents and no noise was heard from inside the room.

 

10/31/18 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance while they issued a noise complaint citation at a Center Street residence.

 

11/01/2018 Suspicious- While in the area of S. Broadway Street, Officers observed a group of subjects running.  After several minutes, officers saw someone had inadvertently bumped a car enabling the alarm to become audible.  FPD responded to the noise complaint. Subjects were dispersed and there were no problems.

 

11/01/2018 Medical Emergency – Officers responded to Frost Hall for a sick individual.  EMS transported the subject to WMRMC.

 

11/01/2018 Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD with a possible domestic in progress.
