Crime Line 10/30 – 11/5

10/30/14 Knock and Talks: Knock & Talks were conducted at the residences of 210 Lower Consol Rd, 112 Bowery Street, and 99 Charles Street.

 

10/30/14 Request for Officer: The complainant and witness advised officers that while they were walking near Annapolis Hall, an Orange Humvee, operated by a male driver, with a female passenger drove past them. They advised that the female passenger yelled the “N” word at them. They advised the vehicle went down and turned around and as the vehicle drove past them again, the male driver yelled the “N” word at them again. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the TIP line 301-687-STOP (7867).

 

10/30/14 Assist Other Agency: Stood by and assisted FPD while a party was being broken up at 102 Wood St. About 100 people were leaving the house.

 

10/30/14 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the area behind Westminster Hall in reference to a complaint of the odor of burnt marijuana. Officers were unable to locate anyone or smell an odor of marijuana.

 

10/31/14 TIPS: TIPS line call about a noise complaint at Highway Pizza, E. College Avenue.  Frostburg City Police were called and officers responded.

 

10/31/14 TIPS: Officers responded to Highway Pizza, E. College Ave., for a second reported noise complaint.  Frostburg City Police were notified and responded, a large crowd was dispersed from the area.

 

10/31/14 Trespassing: Officers found a subject trespassing at the Ort Library who taken into custody.

 

10/31/14 Assist other Agency: Officers assisted the FPD with a noise violation at 185 Park Ave., apt 8, Frostburg.

 

10/31/14 Assist other Agency: Officers responded to Charles St., Frostburg, for a possible fight in progress.

 

10/31/14 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the “F-Bar”, Bowery St. Frostburg, after receiving a complaint from the bartender reporting a male subject refusing to leave the establishment after being requested to do so. Officers proceeded to check the area but were unable to locate the subject.

 

10/31/14 DWI/DUI: Officers traveling north on Broadway St. Frostburg, observed a silver 2003 Hyundai swerve in the roadway almost striking a parked vehicle on the right side of the roadway. The driver was placed under arrest and issued the following citations; Negligent Driving, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving Under the influence of Alcohol Per Se, Driving While Impaired by Alcohol, and Violating License Restrictions.

Judicial Referral submitted.

 

10/31/14 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a reported CDS complaint, an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers were unable to detect an odor of marijuana.

 

10/31/14 Suspicious: Officers responded to the Hitchins Administration building for a report of a suspicious backpack in the stairwell nearest to Pullen Hall. Upon arrival, officers located the black backpack on the third floor of the stairwell. The bag was partially unzipped, and the only items inside the bag were a book and a folder Contact was made with the owner and the bag was claimed.

 

10/31/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 74 Bowery St., to assist Frostburg City Police officers with backup with a suspect who was resisting arrest on a traffic stop.

 

10/31/14 Assist Other Agency:  An anonymous noise complaint was received for 102 Wood St. Frostburg City Police were notified.

 

10/31/14 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke to about 10 students in front of 39 Beall St., about being safe on Halloween.

 

10/31/14 Request For Officer: Safe Ride driver reported while he was driving through the lower hall area, two unknown people threw an orange through the open van window at him. Officers attempted to locate the two subjects matching the descriptions provided by driver, and did not locate anyone.  No injuries reported.

 

11/1/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with breaking up a fight at 155 Center St., Frostburg.

 

11/1/14 Liquor Law Violation: Diehl Hall Resident Assistant reported two underage male students are drinking. Both students were referred to the University Judicial Board System. Residence Life staff were notified.

 

11/1/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Sowers Hall for a report of CDS marijuana odor. Officers were unable to locate the source of the odor.

 

11/1/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 4 Bobcat Court for a report of a noise complaint. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police were already on scene.

 

11/1/14 Dating Violence: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a report of female who was receiving threatening remarks from her boyfriend.

 

11/1/14 Theft: Student reported his North face back pack may have been taken while inside the Chesapeake Dining Hall.

11/2/14 Trespassing/Disorderly Conduct: Officers were called to the FSU Bobcat Stadium for a disturbance inside the stadium. A student was issued a criminal citation for Trespassing, and was then released and given a final warning not to return to the Bobcat Stadium. Judicial Board referral submitted.

 

11/3/14 Tampering With Motor Vehicle: Student reported he parked his Toyota Camry in the Sand Spring parking lot and later that day he went to retrieve his vehicle and noticed a big dent on the hood of the car.

 

11/1/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 89 S. Grant Street, College Flats Apartments, for a drug overdose.

 

11/2/14 Liquor Law Violation: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall, for an intoxicated female student who passed out. Student was transported by ambulance to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Following release the student was issued a civil citation for underage consumption of alcohol. Judicial Board referral submitted.

 

11/2/14 Warrant Service: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, and served a bench warrant.

 

11/3/14 Vandalism: Frederick Hall Resident Assistant reported while making his rounds he observed eggs thrown at all doors on the 2nd and 3rd floor, inside the 4th floor kitchen, and several doors on the 4th floor, the 5th floor, and 6th floor of the building. Officers noticed that the egg like material were actually paint balls, filled with yellow paint or an unknown yellow substance. The investigation is continuing.

 

11/3/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a criminal summons for a student at Gunter Hall.

 

11/3/14 Vandalism: Cumberland Hall Resident Assistant reported that someone had written graffiti on the rear of Cumberland Hall. Upon arrival, officers observed the vandalism near the northeast corner of the building. It appeared that a suspect(s) had written “JW” with what appeared to be gold in color paint.

 

 

11/4/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers met with the Edgewood Commons Maintenance Supervisor who reported he was preforming fire safety checks when he observed what he believed to be drug paraphernalia on a desk. Two subjects were referred to the Judicial Board system.

 

11/5/14 Destruction of Property: Officers responded to the Compton Science Center, for a reported malicious destruction of property complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with the housekeeper who advised that while cleaning the first floor she noticed that a window near the south side, main entrance doors was shattered. The investigation is continuing.
