Crime Line 11/11 – 11/18
11/11/15 Theft: An FSU employee reported her wallet was stolen either from her office or out of her purse on 11/10/15, while in the bathroom in the Cordts PE Center. The investigation is continuing.
11/11/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted an Allegany County Sheriff Officer with locating a subject in the Performing Arts Center to serve a Peace Order. Subject was located and the order served.
11/11/15 Assault: Officers were dispatched to the FSU Arboretum in reference to a disturbance. Police Dispatch advised they had a female on the phone that was in an argument with her boyfriend, she reported he had slapped her and damaged her phone. In addition to the criminal investigation, the Title IX Coordinator and Student Affairs were notified.
11/11/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons for a CDS smell. Upon arrival, officers could smell a faint smell of marijuana in the hallway area.
11/12/15 Unregistered Keg/Liquor Law Violation: While patrolling on Stoyer St., Frostburg, officers noticed a group of several males subjects carrying a 16 gallon Keg. Two of the subjects were issued civil citations for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage and the third subject was cited for possession of an unregistered Keg. The keg was confiscated by officers and transported back to police headquarters until officers could properly dispose of it.
11/12/15 Assault: A FSU student reported she was involved in an incident in her Sociology class. At that time a physical altercation occurred, and two students swung at each other. No injuries were reported. The student was advised of her rights to file charges/peace order at the Allegany County Commissioner’s Office. Student Affairs were notified.
11/12/15 Hit & Run: An Chart well’s employee reported his red 1997 Saturn was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in the gravel lot behind the Lane Center. There were no witnesses or suspect vehicles found in the lot at the time the incident was reported.
11/13/15 Liquor Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Diehl Hall, in reference to a female subject locked in a stall in the women’s restroom. Subject was transported by ambulance to WMRMC, for possible alcohol poisoning. Subject will be issued a civil citation for underage consumption of alcohol upon her return to campus. Parents were notified.
11/13/15 Disorderly Conduct: Officers were dispatched to Annapolis Hall, for a male subject being loud and causing a disturbance in the hallway. Officers placed the student under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace. Judicial Board Referral submitted.
11/13/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the Cordts PE Center for a report of CDS. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the Building Manager who stated she located a clear plastic sandwich baggie in the hallway, at the entrance to the baseball gym, containing possible marijuana. The marijuana was weighed with a result of 0.5 grams. It was then packaged according to FSUPD procedure and placed into the FSUPD Evidence Locker for destruction.
11/13/15 Assist Other Agency: An FSU student reported she had been engaged in an argument with her boyfriend, at his residence at which time he physically assaulted her. Due to the incident occurring out of FSUPD primary jurisdiction, an officer from Frostburg City Police was requested to respond. Frostburg City police responded and then handled the investigation. Title IX Coordinator & Student Affairs notified.
11/14/15 Request for Officer: Subjects requested officers at a Bowery St. residence, who advised they all were exposed to some type of assumed pepper spray agent. Upon arrival, officers did not detect any such substances. The individuals at the residence appeared normal and advised everything was ok. All three subjects were offered medical treatment which they declined.
11/14/15 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to Frost Hall for a report of fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers were unable to observe any visual or audible alarms activated in the building. Frostburg Fire Department arrived on the scene and conducted a patrol check of the building with negative results for any fire, smoke, or hazardous conditions an attempt was made to reset the alarm with negative results. Facilities & Residence Life staff were notified.
11/14/15 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab, 301 Braddock Rd., for an unauthorized entry into the building.
11/5/15 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons for a report of fire alarm activation. Investigation revealed the smoke detector on the third floor was activated for smoke that was created by burnt food in the microwave. Fire crews determined that there were no hazardous conditions in the building and began to ventilate the smoke. Fire Alarm system was reset in the building. Edgewood Assistant Director notified.
11/15/15 Damage to Property: A FSU Housekeeper reported upon arriving home after work on Friday, 11/13/15, she observed damage to the rear quarter panel of her vehicle, a white 2012 GMC Terrain.
11/16/15 Disturbance: An Annapolis Hall student reported she was in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend. Officers made contact with the male subject who advised he and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal argument, advising it was not physical. He was then informed that since he does not reside in Annapolis Hall his was not permitted to enter the building. A Frostburg State University trespass order was issued. Incident was also judicially referred to Student and Affairs.
11/16/15 Tampering With Fire Equipment: Officers responded to Westminster Hall for smoke detected on the 4th floor. Upon arrival, officers determined that it was not smoke; rather someone had discharged a fire extinguisher. Officers removed the discharged fire extinguisher and replace it with a fully charged extinguisher. Housekeeping was advised by headquarters for cleanup. No indication of any smoke or fire was evident. Resident Assistant notified.
11/17/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Beall St. Frostburg Maryland to assist the Frostburg City Police with a Breaking and Entering in progress. As a result Frostburg City Police took the complainants ex-boyfriend into custody and arrested him for a violating a Protective Order. Both the victim and arrestee are Frostburg State University Students. Student affairs and the Title IX Coordinator were advised.
11/17/15 Assist Other Agency: At the request of Frostburg City Police, FSUPD officers responded to Washington St. Frostburg Maryland for a Domestic Assault in progress. Investigation revealed a male & female subject were in involved in a physical confrontation resulting in both parties having minor injuries. Both subjects, non-students, were arrested by Frostburg City Police for Domestic Violence/Assault.
11/17/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons for a CDS complaint. While investigating the complaint, officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from within a room. A consent search of the student’s residence revealed contraband and two residents were advised that a report would be submitted to the Student Affairs Office for review and disposition. The seized evidence was transported to police headquarters and submitted to evidence for proper disposal.
