Crime Line: 11/30 – 12/7
11/30/16 Trespassing: An FSU student was arrested for trespassing in the Cordts PE Center. The student was recently PNG from the PE Center for any reason other than to attend his Fall 2016 Classes. Student was transported to Allegany County Detention Center where he is was held on a $7500.00 bond. Student Affairs has placed the student on interim suspension from FSU grounds pending his FSU hearing.
12/1/16 Theft M/V: FSU Parent reported her 2006 Ford Expedition, had been stolen while parked on campus was involved in a motor vehicle collision on US Route 40 at I-70 in Howard County. The investigation is continuing.
12/1/16 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with several alumni who were attending an event at Hi Way Pizza, E. College Avenue, Frostburg.
12/1/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Simpson Hall for a reported dispute. The situation was resolved without charges or judicial referral.
12/2/16 Disturbance: Officers were dispatched to the Sand Spring parking lot for a report of a disturbance. Officers intervened and resolved in the dispute
12/2/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Frederick Hall, for a report of an odor of possible marijuana. As a result of the investigation a judicial referral was made.
12/2/16 Assault: A FSU student reported that he was physically assaulted by another student, a friend. Student advised that he already contacted Student Affairs regarding this incident and that the friend has been suspended regarding this incident. Student advised he did not want to press charges, however, was advised of his rights at District Court and provided with a Crime Victims’ Rights pamphlet. A judicial board referral was submitted.
12/3/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons, for a reported odor of burnt marijuana. As a result of the investigation a judicial referral was submitted.
12/3/16 Request for Officer: Frederick Hall Resident Assistant reported subjects were smoking marijuana. The call was determined to be unfounded.
12/3/16 Information: A College of Southern Maryland student reported that an FSU student has engaged in academic dishonesty by stealing a paper from him and turning it in as their own work. A judicial board referral was submitted.
12/3/16 Theft: FSU student reported a theft that occurred between the dates of November 14, and November 23, 2016, from his Jeep Cherokee while parked in the Center Street parking lot. The student advised his sunglasses, CD’s and house keys were taken. Officers reviewed the surveillance video and did not observe tampering with or accessing the student’s vehicle.
12/3/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Bobcat Court, Lower Consol Road, Frostburg, regarding a request to assist the Frostburg City Police on a traffic stop. Students were involved and there was marijuana in the car, as a result a judicial referral was submitted.
12/3/16 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested officers respond to the area of Braddock Road by the Language building regarding four individuals lying in the roadway. Upon arrival several FSUPD and Frostburg City units checked the general area but were unable to locate the individuals.
12/4/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Bowery Street, Frostburg, for a noise complainant. Upon arrival, officers advised the residents that there had been a noise complaint and advised the resident that if he made everyone leave then no one would receive a citation. All subjects were asked to leave the area, which they did.
12/4/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded back to Bowery Street, Frostburg to assist Frostburg City Police with a large party. FSUPD Officers stood-by while Frostburg City Police issued a civil citation to one of the residents and until the majority of the party attendees left the area.
12/4/16 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall, for fire alarm activation. It was determined that the smoke originated in the second floor kitchen and was likely caused by cooking oil or food that was burned. There were no other problems observed by firefighters. The fire department silenced and reset the alarm. Residents were allowed to reenter the building. No injuries reported.
12/4/16 Trespassing: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall, for a reported trespassing complaint. According to the complainant, a male student who has been suspended from FSU was observed inside Annapolis Hall. Officers were unable to locate the individual; a report will be submitted to Student Affairs for review and follow-up.
12/5/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a reported odor of marijuana. As a result of the investigation a judicial board referral was submitted
12/5/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Frederick Hall, for a report CDS. No marijuana was detected.
12/5/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with the Resident Assistant and two females, officers were able to defuse the incident without further charges or referrals.
12/7/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a minor traffic accident on E. Main Street, Frostburg. No injuries were reported.
