Crime Line 11/4 – 11/10
11/4/15 Hit & Run: Officers were dispatched to the Lowndes parking lot for a report of a hit & run. No injuries reported.
11/5/15 Breaking & Entering: An Annapolis Hall student reported a person(s) had entered his room and stole his Bank of China (ICBC) debit card. Resident Director On-Duty notified.
11/5/15 Abandoned Vehicle: An abandoned 1998 Oldsmobile vehicle in the Cumberland Lot was towed by Barton’s Tow Service for storage in their secured lot. An FSUPD Towed Vehicle Report was completed.
11/5/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the 2nd floor of Gray Hall on a CDS complaint. Upon arrival, officers checked the 1st & 2nd floors for a CDS smell but could not smell anything other than food. No further police action taken.
11/6/15 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with approximately ten students at a Center Street residence, about loud music.
11/6/15 Hit & Run: A FSU student reported he witnessed a hit & run accident in the Upper Pullen parking lot. No injuries reported.
11/6/15 Theft: A FSU student reported he arrived at the team’s locker room to dress for practice on 11/5/15 at 1645 hours. He had stored his personal property in his assigned locker #40, placed a silver necklace wrapped around a silver Citizen Eco Drive watch in a hand warmer located on the top shelf of the locker and left the locker unsecured. He later found the watch missing. A suspect was identified and the watch was recovered. A referral to the Judicial Board was submitted.
11/6/15 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with the residents of E. College Avenue, Frostburg.
11/6/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 8 Bobcat Court and met with Frostburg City Police to assist them with breaking a party up. Officers then cleared the crowd leaving the party.
11/7/15 Public Urination: Officers patrolling at the corner of Charles & Wood St. noticed a male subject urinating on the side of a house. The subject was issued a civil citation for public urination.
11/7/15 Alarm: Officers responded to the Bobcat Stadium for fire alarm activation in Women’s Room in the Press Box. Upon arrival, officers were advised the alarm had been pulled by a subject and was now being reset. No fire or smoke was detected.
11/7/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to South Broadway St., at the request of Frostburg City Police for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with Frostburg City Police and determined no noise could be heard that violated Frostburg City ordinance. Officers spoke with several apartments with small groups of students.
11/7/15 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with the resident at a Maple St. residence about urinating in public and open containers.
11/8/15 Assist Other Agency: While patrolling on Wood St., Frostburg, officers and Frostburg City Police notice a fight at the corner of Wood and Charles St. FSUPD Officers cleared Wood St., while Frostburg City Police tried to identify the involved parties. The involved parties could not be identified and several other small fights took place in the Ally 39 and E. College Ave Officers then cleared those areas and students returned to campus.
11/8/15 Assault: Officers traveling through Alley 33, between College Avenue and Charles St., Frostburg, observed one male subject strike another male subject. At this time officers intervened and broke the two individuals up. The parties declined prosecution.
11/8/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance with a disturbance at Broadway Street. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police cleared a party from the residence at that location.
11/8/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Simpson Hall, for a CDS complaint. As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board referral was submitted.
11/8/15 Request for Officer: Caller reported a group of students making “a lot of noise” outside Allen Hall. Officers responded to the area and found the subjects to be gone on arrival.
11/8/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance of locating eight subjects who had dined at the Japanese steak house, next to Roses Department Store who left the establishment without paying their bill. The waitress recalled there were five females, one wore glasses, one had pink hair, and another wore a blue jacket. There were also three males. Officers patrolled the campus grounds and the surrounding area however the subjects were not found.
11/9/15 Information: A Montgomery County Police Resource Officer reported he was approached by one of his high school students who stated they observed photos on a social media site showing a subject in possession of a gun and also referencing Frostburg State University. The individual was identified to be a non-student and determined not to be a threat.
11/9/15 Destruction of Property: A FSU Housekeeper reported she located a damaged expelled fire extinguisher on the 4th floor of Frederick Hall. FSU Facilities notified.
11/9/15 Request for Officer: An FSU Housekeeper reported she located a .22 round while sweeping the floors inside Dunkle Hall. She stated she noticed the .22 round when picking up the debris after sweeping and was unsure what floor it was on. She stated she located the item while working on Saturday, 11-07-2015. The item was then placed into FSUPD Property room.
11/9/15 Request for Officer: An FSU employee reported a suspicious person in the Stadium parking lot. Officers responded to the area and the subject was gone on arrival. No further action taken.
11/9/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for a report of possible marijuana in a room. As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board referral was submitted.
11/9/15 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab, 301 Braddock Road, for an alarm in room 239. Upon arrival, officers discovered the alarm and two emergency blue lights were activated in error.
11/10/15 Theft: An Annapolis Hall student reported that on or about October 16, 2015, at around 1900 hours, he believed that his wallet was stolen from his dorm room. The investigation is continuing.
11/10/15 Traffic Arrest: Officers observed a 2004 Kia Optima passenger vehicle traveling south on Bowery St. Frostburg and noticed the expiration stickers were obstructed by a foreign material and not clearly visible. The driver was then issued traffic citations for failure to maintain a legible registration plate free from foreign materials, driving without current tags, failure to display license on demand, and for driving uninsured vehicle. Driver was then released from the scene and elected to walk to his residence. Barton’s Towing was contacted, responded, and removed the vehicle from the scene.
11/10/15 Breaking & Entering: A Cumberland Hall student reported his wallet was stolen from his residence. The investigation is continuing.
11/10/15 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to the Chesapeake Dining Hall for a report of fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, contact was made with Chartwell’s Supervisor who advised that one of his employees was cooking at the stir-fry station and created a small amount of smoke, which activated a nearby smoke detector. FFD personnel were unable to locate any hazardous conditions, and the alarm was reset. Once it was determined that the alarm was reset and holding, fire department personnel cleared the scene. No injuries were reported.
11/10/15 Request for Officer: Officers were dispatched to the Frampton parking lot for a report of a possible disturbance. While responding to the area, officers observed numerous vehicles exiting the Frampton Lot and traveling both directions on University Drive. Upon arrival, officers were unable to observe anyone in the area and could not hear any signs of a possible disturbance. A patrol of area was conducted with negative results for any activity.
