Crime Line 11/6 – 11/12

11/06/2019   Request for Officer  – Officers spoke to the complainant at FUSPD who was requesting to file a harassment complaint.  Subject received a text from an unknown person who she believed was attempting to prank her.  The text did not qualify as harassment but the complainant was advised to contact FUSPD if she receives any other threats or continuous unwanted calls.

11/06/2019   Request for Officer  Officers were dispatched to Gray Hall to make contact with a complainant regarding an assault which had previously occurred.  Subjects advised there had been involved in an assault on 11/02/2019 and had just received summons from District Court and were being charged with assault by the petitioner.  The summons was explained to both individuals and they were advised of their right to obtain counsel.  Due to them advising that they had been in a mutual assault, Officers provided them each with a MD Crime Victims and Witnesses pamphlet and explained the contents. They were also provided the case number of the previous incident and explained where to go to pursue charges and apply for a public defender. 

 

11/08/2019   DOP – Misdemeanor  Officers responded to Dunkle Hall for a destruction of property.  Housekeeping found a door that had the bottom slat/vent portion kicked inward. A review of the Ocularis camera system was conducted but there are no cameras on the second floor of Dunkle. 

11/08/2019   CDS – Officers responded to Diehl Hall for an odor of marijuana.  Upon arrival a mild odor was coming from the suspected room.  A Consent to Search and Seize form was signed and dated. As a result two bottles of alcohol and CDS were located.  The subject was issued a citation of possession of marijuana under ten grams and the alcohol was removed and destroyed per policy.  A copy of the report was submitted to the student judicial board for further disposition. 

11/08/2019   Fraud –  Officers were contacted by  a subject who resides off campus regarding her dating profile being hacked.  A MD Uniform Identity Fraud / Theft Reporting form was provided.  An online search of the suspect phone number returned a result in PA or NY area.  An attempt to contact the suspect phone number resulted in a constant busy signal. 

 

11/09/2019  Disturbance- Subjects contacted headquarters for a subject yelling at them for not saying “Thank you “ for holding a door open for them at Edgewood Commons.  The yelling escalated into the male complainants dorm room. A  Victim’s Pamphlet was provided and the main victim of the complaint and the others were provided with District Court Rights. The ladies were advised to avoid contact with the male and to call right away should there be any issue.  Judicial Board submitted.

11/09/2019  CDS – Officers responded to Gray Hall for a complaint of an odor or marijuana.  Upon arrival, officers detected the odor of burnt marijuana.  An attempt to make contact with the resident where the odor was extremely strong, resulted with negative results.  Report was submitted to the student judicial board for further review.

11/09/2019  Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD transported to juveniles to Frostburg City Police Station at the request of FPD.

11/10/2019  Noise Complaint – Officer responded to Cumberland Hall for a report of hearing thumping noises and yelling.  Contact was made with three females who advised they were dancing.  They were advised to keep the noise down.

11/10/2019  CDS – Officers responded to Diehl Hall for the odor of marijuana.  A moderate odor of marijuana was detected upon arrival.  A walk through of the building was conducted.  There was no odor found on the second or third floor.  A person may have entered the building and walked down the first floor hallway with the odor on their clothing. 

11/11/2019   Assist Other Agency (ACSO) Assisted Allegany County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to locate two individuals who were involved in a theft incident from the Wal-Mart in LaVale, MD.  Both subjects were located at Annapolis Hall.  Student affairs will be contacted for the involvement with the theft.

11/11/2019   Theft – Misdemeanor – Officers met with a subject at FSU Headquarters who reported items stolen from her vehicle.  After a review of the Ocularis Camera System a suspect vehicle was observed near the complainants vehicle.  The complainant was not familiar with the suspect vehicle after photos were shown to her.  Other agencies were contacted requesting and other reported similar thefts.  CPD had one IR with a theft of similar items. 

 

11/12/2019   Damage To Property –  Officers reported to Headquarters where they were informed of a complaint of a damage to property from a caller who advised while he was parked at his jobsite his vehicle was struck by a baseball from an athletic practice.  Subject was not on campus at this time he was home in Morgantown West Virginia.  Complainant advised he had photographs of the damage and dash cam video showing a baseball rolling away from the vehicle which he provided to the officer via email. 

11/12/2019   Noise Complaint – Officers responded to Dunkle Hall for a report of loud music. When officers arrived on scene the complainant had left.  

 

11/12/2019   Assist Other Agency  (FPD) Officers assisted numerous vehicles stuck on the roadway on College Avenue also a single vehicle accident at College Avenue and Beall Street.

 

11/12/2019   CDS – Officers responded to Allen Hall for an odor of CDS.  After a walkthrough was conducted the origin of the odor could not be found.

 

Summary period includes 165 calls for service and 5 traffic stops
