Crime Line 1/30 – 2/3

1/30/15 Fire: Officers were dispatched for a fire alarm in the Performing Arts Center .Upon arrival, officers along with the Frostburg Fire Department were able to locate heavy smoke on the second floor. Officers made contact with a wood shop employee who advised a saw caught on fire while in use. The fire was put out by staff using a fire extinguisher. The building was ventilated for approximately 15 minutes until smoke dissipated. The alarm was silenced and reset at that time. No injuries reported.

 

1/30/15 Hit & Run: FSU student reported he parked his 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor in the Center St. Lot and upon returning to his vehicle he observed the left driver’s side tail lamp to be broken.

 

1/30/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg Police Department requested officers to be on the lookout for an Allegany County Transit Bus (Yellow Line) possibly transporting a female suspect involved in a theft that had just occurred at 66 Broadway. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

 

1/30/15 Request For Officer: Officers were called to the first floor of Allen Hall for an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers could immediately smell an odor of marijuana, but were unable to pinpoint the location.

 

1/30/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers were dispatched to City Place, Water Street, Frostburg to assist the Frostburg City Police with a large disturbance. FPD made one arrest.

 

1/31/15 Disturbance: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall for a report of a disturbance in the first floor hallway.  Disorderly subject was located and further advised that if officers were called to deal with him anymore, he would be arrested for disorderly conduct. Judicial Board referral submitted.

 

1/31/15 Dating Violence: Officers were dispatched to Allen Hall, for a report of a fight in progress. One subject was referred to the Judicial Board as a result of the incident.

 

1/31/15 Disturbance: Officers were dispatched to the student mail room in Frederick Hall for a disturbance. Two students were referred to the Judicial Board.

 

1/31/15 Request For Officer: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for a reported noise complaint. Five students will be referred for judiciary board, for providing alcoholic beverages to persons under age twenty one and for consuming alcoholic beverage by persons under the age of twenty one.

 

1/31/15 Liquor Law Violation: Officers were called to Edgewood Commons, for a complaint of an underage party with alcohol. Five male subjects stated they had been consuming alcohol and were identified to be underage. Officers issued five civil citations for possession and consumption of an alcoholic beverage under 21 years of age. Judicial Board referral submitted.

 

1/31/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg Police Department requested assistance of locating a white male subject, wearing a black sweatshirt, who was wanted for a strong armed robbery that just occurred at the Outback Bar, 147 E. Main St. Frostburg. Officers searched the area for several minutes but were unsuccessful at locating the subject.  Suspect was identified and is not a student.

 

1/31/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to College Avenue to assist the Frostburg Police Department with a reported noise complaint. Contact was made with a renter of the property who agreed to turn the music down and disperse the party. Officers stood-by until guests left the area.

 

1/31/15 Request For Officer: Cumberland Hall Resident Director requested an officer in regards to underage drinking. Officers responded to the area and found no alcohol or odor present. No further police action at the time

 

1/31/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police advised to be on the look-out for a male subject carrying a bat walking on Mechanic St, Frostburg, near the rear of the city library. Officers who were traveling on Broadway proceeded to Mechanic St. where they observed a male subject carrying a bat. Contact was made with the subject, who was asked to turn over the bat to Officers. Frostburg City Officers arrived on the scene. No further police action taken by this agency.

 

1/31/15 Disorderly Conduct: Officers working a Late At Lane Event inside the Lane Center were advised by a Lane Center employee that officers should keep an eye on a male subject approaching their location due to the subject’s high probability of being intoxicated. Upon contacting the subject he became disorderly, resisted arrest and was ultimately subdued with OC spray. The student was issued a civil citation for underage possession, criminal citations for Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Obey a Reasonable and Lawful Order of a Police Officer. FSU Judicial Board Referral was submitted.

 

2/1/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police for an unresponsive male subject at Park Lane, Frostburg. At this time EMS arrived and transported him to WMRMC for further treatment for possible alcohol poisoning.

 

2/1/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a traffic stop at Broadway and Stoyer Street, Frostburg.

 

2/1/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police at West Mechanic Street, Frostburg, for a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the complainant who reported a dispute he was having with his neighbor.

 

2/1/15 Request For Officer: Officers spoke with a female subject who was very upset and advised she had an argument with her girlfriend. She stated the female subject that was there with her had her phone and keys.

 

2/1/15 Damage to Property: Lane Center employee reported she observed damage to her personal vehicle which she believed occurred on FSU property. She stated that she believes someone struck her vehicle with a basketball.

 

2/1/15 Vandalism:  Officers while conducting a patrol check of the Arboretum noticed graffiti painted on the brick field house, located on the southeast end of Bobcat Stadium.

 

2/2/15 Tampering With Motor Vehicle: Officers were dispatched to the Upper Pullen Lot to assist a motorist with a flat tire. Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who advised that the front passenger side tire on her 2004 Volvo was possibly slashed. A suspect was identified but denied involvement.

 

2/2/15 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab, 301 Braddock Road, for an automatic alarm for unauthorized entry. Upon arrival, officers found employees leaving the building which activated the alarm. No further police action taken.

 

2/2/15 Disturbance: Ort Library employee requested an officer respond to the 2nd floor for a female student who would not comply with his requests.  The subject left the library without incident.

 

2/03/15 Damage to Property: On February 3, 2015, a student in Allen Hall came to headquarters to file a report about his broken T.V. He stated that on the morning of Saturday, Nov 31, at 0200hrs his roommate and his roommate’s girlfriend got into a physical altercation in the room. During the altercation the students TV got knocked to the ground. Investigation continuing.

 

2/03/15 Check on Well Being: Mother of a student concerned she has not heard from her son in two days. The PCO on duty was able to make contact, no further action was taken.

 

2/03/15 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the Library for an employee who was stuck in the elevator.  When officers arrived the employee was already out, no further action was taken.
