Crime Line 2/10 – 2/16
2/10/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the Appalachian Station in the Lane Center to retrieve suspected CDS that was located by employees. The suspected marijuana was transported to the F.S.U.P.D. and logged into evidence to be destroyed.
2/10/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a traffic accident at the intersection of College Ave. and Center St., Frostburg.
2/10/16 Request for Officer: An off-campus student reported a dispute between him and his roommate who reside on Beall St., Frostburg.
2/10/16 Fire Alarm/Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall in reference to a fire alarm activation. As a result of the investigation officers seized one smoking device and referred a student to a judicial disciplinary board.
2/10/16 Tampering With Fire Equipment: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a report of smoke in the 3rd floor hallway. Upon arrival, officers immediately detected the odor of a discharged fire extinguisher. Upon entering the hallway we could see the remnants of the fire extinguisher discharge in the air as well was powder all along the carpeted floor in the hall way. The fire extinguisher outside room 307 had been discharged inside the hallway. There was no legitimate reason as to why the extinguisher would have been discharged. The discharged fire extinguisher was taken to Stangle and replaced with a new fully charged fire extinguisher.
2/11/16 Theft: A Diehl Hall student reported she placed her sneakers had been removed from outside her door. The investigation is continuing.
2/12/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons, for a report of a possible odor of marijuana. As a result of the investigation a judicial board referral was submitted.
2/13/16 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested police assistance for a traffic stop on Main St. Upon arrival, officers stood-by while Frostburg City Police placed the driver under arrest for a DUI and transported him to FCPD.
2/13/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons, for a report of a possible underage drinking party. One student was issued a civil citation for consumption of alcohol underage. Judicial Board referral submitted.
2/13/16 Knock & Talk: Officers patrolling on E. College Ave., Frostburg, noticed a large crowd of people exiting the Hi Pizza Bar. The door man was telling a male patron that he could refuse the male entrance into the bar. The male became upset and started yelling until he saw the police vehicle. At that time officers, spoke with the door man who stated that the male was too intoxicated to enter and he was closing the bar for the night. Officers stayed in the area until everyone cleared, no further action taken.
2/13/16 Alarm: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall for a report of a fire alarm. A check of the 2nd floor kitchen area revealed the room to be filled with smoke, with burnt toast in a frying pan, which had been placed into the sink. Frostburg Fire Department arrived on scene and conducted a premise check of the building, and indicated that the source of the smoke was from the 2nd floor kitchen. Fire personnel deemed the building safe for civilian reentry.
2/13/16 Damage to Property: Officers responded to the intersection of E. College Avenue and Center Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a university owned vehicle. No injuries were reported. The 2011 Chevrolet Van was driven from the scene and returned to the University Police Lot, where it was placed out of service.
2/13/16 Traffic Accident: An Edgewood Commons student reported that around 0100 hours on 2/13/2016 his vehicle was in a traffic accident while parked in Edgewood Commons Lot. The student was provided with a case number and FSU Police contact information. No injuries were reported.
2/13/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for an odor of suspected marijuana in the first floor hall (men’s side). Officers then walked all three floors of the building and found no further indication of CDS. The odor may have been on a person(s) outerwear as he/she/they traveled through the suspected area. The complainant was advised the only area the odor of marijuana was detected was in the lobby near his office.
2/13/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons for a report of CDS. As a result of the investigation one student was referred to a judicial board.
2/13/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Bowery Street to assist the Frostburg City Police on a traffic stop. Once on the scene, FSUPD officers stood by while Frostburg City Police searched the vehicle for possible CDS.
2/14/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to East College Ave., Frostburg, to assist Frostburg City Police with a noise complaint. Frostburg City Police made contact with the renter of the property. At this time the party was cleared.
2/14/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Diehl Hall for a reported CDS complaint. As a result of the investigation one student was referred to the judicial board.
2/14/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a reported odor of marijuana. The officers were unable to locate the origin of the odor.
2/15/16 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance at Main St., Frostburg, for a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, FSUPD officers stood by while Frostburg City Police investigated the incident.
2/15/16 Notification: Officer made contact with the staff at Annapolis & Cumberland Hall regarding safety & students smoking marijuana. The staff reported that students are smoking marijuana on the 2nd floor of each building. Officers advised the staff to contact the police when it occurs.
2/15/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall for a CDS complaint. As a result of the investigation five students were be judicially referred.
2/16/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers were dispatched to Center St., Frostburg, to assist the Frostburg City Police with a possible domestic violence incident.
