Crime Line 2/26 – 3/2

2/26/16 Request for Officer: FSU employee reported a dog locked in a vehicle in the PAC lot.  Officers responded to the vehicle and identified the owner who was later contacted.

2/25/16 Drug Law Violation: While conducting a follow-up on a separate incident in Annapolis Hall, officers smelled a moderate odor of burnt marijuana in the first floor hallway, in the west wing. Officers were unable to locate the source of the odor.

2/26/16 Damage to Property: Officers responded to Dunkle Hall to check on damage to the men’s restroom. Officers observed the vent on the door to be broken. It appeared something had hit the vents and pushed them out. Facilities notified for repair.

2/27/16 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with several male students who were standing on the steps of a Center St. residence in Frostburg, about yelling profanities, loud noise and underage consumption of alcohol.

2/27/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall, where a student was issued a civil citation for underage possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage.

2/27/16 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with two male students who were yelling derogatory terms towards the officers as they were traveling on Stoyer Street, Frostburg.

2/27/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers patrolling on Bowery St., Frostburg, noticed a male subject carrying a Sweet Water beer can. Subject was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.

2/27/16 Liquor Law Violation: While patrolling on Maple St., Frostburg, officers issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place, which is a city ordinance for the City of Frostburg.

2/27/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers on patrol in a marked police vehicle at Stoyer and Bowery St., Frostburg, issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place, which is a city ordinance for the City of Frostburg.

2/28/16 Liquor Law Violation: While on patrol at the intersection of Wood and Stoyer St., Frostburg, officers issued a citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage under 21.

2/28/16 Knock & Talk: Officers advised the residents at a Wood St. residence, Frostburg, against allowing underage alcohol consumption and broke up the party.

2/28/16 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with the residents on Bowery St., Frostburg, about the attention that can be drawn to their house when large parties are held.

3/1/16 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to Sowers Hall for a report of fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, an audible alarm could be heard with the strobe lights flashing. The resident of a room approached and advised she had been cooking food on the stove in her apartment, when the grease in the pan ignited. Frostburg Fire Department arrived on the scene and determined no fire was present and the building was cleared. Resident Assistant notified.

3/1/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Diehl Hall at the request of the Resident Assistants. Upon arrival, officers met with the RA’s who advised they were doing fire inspections in the rooms and upon going into a room a large knife was observed on a desk. Officers confiscated the knife and a judicial board referral was submitted.

3/2/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Hi-Way Pizza, E. College Ave., to assist the Frostburg City Police for a report of four suspicious subjects trying to enter the building. Investigation revealed the resident of the apartment above the pizza shop had locked himself out and was attempting to gain access through the window of the apartment.
