Crime Line 2/4 – 2/11

2/4/15 Assist Other Agency:  Officers responded to Albert Avenue, Frostburg, to assist FPD with an unattended death.

 

2/4/15 Emergency Phone: Officers responded to the Ort Library for the elevator after receiving several phone calls.  No one was in the elevator scene was clear.

 

2/5/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted FPD with a possible B&E.  A female student reported coming home to an open apartment requesting officers to check the house before she entered.

 

2/5/15 Request for Officer: RA from Allen Hall reported students using a Taser. Officers seized the Taser.  Student will be judicially referred.

 

2/05/15 CDS: Officers detected the odor of marijuana emitting from a room in Frederick Hall and made contact with the student who resides in that room.  Student will face a Judicial Board.

 

2/5/15 School Threat: University Police received information from an FSU student that while on the media website (Yik Yak) he observed a post; “Debating on pulling the trigger mid class.” A student later walked into University Police Hq’s and advised he was responsible for post. Investigator’s interviewed him and determined no threat was intended.

 

2/5/15 Request for Officer: A student advised upon rounds he could smell a strong odor of CDS as the resident of Annapolis Hall.  Officers responded but did not locate the smell.

 

2/5/15 Knock and Talk: Beal Street

 

2/5/15 Assist other Agency: Noise complaint on Center St.

 

2/6/15 Alarm: Staff member reported a baseball struck a fire alarm panel and set off the alarm.

 

2/6/15 Check on Well Being: A student’s father called to report receiving a phone call about his son being in a car accident, being held at a police station and money needing to be sent for him.  Dispatch informed him that is was a phone scam and asked when the last contact was he had with his son.  He reported that he just spoke to him, but wanted someone to check and make sure he was safe.  Contact was made with the student, who was in his room and fine and reported that he just spoke to his father.

 

2/6/15 Hit and Run: Officers responded to a Hit and Run at Chesapeake lot and made contact with the student involved, she stated that she noticed a dent on the front passenger door.

 

2/6/15 Disturbance: Officers were dispatched to a disturbance, in the parking lot across from the football field on University Drive.  Officers responded to the area of the lower dorms and Sand Spring Lot and were unable to locate any disturbances. Officers subsequently patrolled all the parking lots on campus with negative results.  No further action taken.

 

2/6/15 Assist other Agency: Noise complaint on Paul Street no action was taken by this agency

 

2/7/15 Suspicious: while patrolling on Bowery St. a white male stopped officers at the intersection of Bowery St. and College Ave. The male stated that a white male wearing a black hoodie was in the back yard of his residence at 133 College Ave. He then stated that when he was leaving the male ran over to the tree in the back of his yard and grabbed a pedal bike. Contact was made with the subject riding the bike he was identified and told to go home, FPD was notified and no further action was taken.

 

2/7/15 Request for Officer: RA called for underage drinking in his quad, unfounded no further action was taken.

 

2/7/15 Open Container: While patrolling in a marked police vehicle on Stoyer St., officers noticed a white male carrying an open can of beer. One citation was issued.

 

2/7/15 Alarm: Officers responded to Westminster Hall 6th floor for a fire alarm cause by burnt food, no further action was taken.

 

2/8/15 Theft: A student advised officers his cellphone, Black IPhone IV w/ Black Case valued at $200.00 was stolen from a docking station in the CCIT building on the second floor.  He advised he plugged his phone in at approx. 1540hrs and returned a few times to check on it.  At 1552hrs he noticed his phone was gone, investigation continuing.

 

2/8/15 Check on Well Being: Officers observed 3 females walking on University Drive between the Upper Practice Fields and Edgewood Commons.  Officers stopped and asked them if everything was ok. They advised they were fine, scene cleared.

 

2/8/15 Assist other Agency: Officers responded to Center St. to assist Frostburg City Police with a report of a dispute between roommates.

 

2/8/15 DWI/DUI: Officers were at the intersection of College Ave. and Center St., Frostburg MD when observing a silver vehicle traveling E/B on College Ave. near the Guild Center, Frostburg State University. The vehicle made a right turn into the Guild Center parking lot. There is a sign posted at this entrance, DO NOT ENTER- Service Vehicles Only. At this time the officer made the traffic stop on the vehicle.  A field sobriety test was administered and due to the  results and the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and his slurred speech, he informed he was being placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  J board report was sent.

 

2/8/15 Request for Officer: A call came into police headquarters advising of a male subject in the Diehl/Allen Hall area being disorderly and bothering other students. At this time officers responded.  The subject was gone upon arrival.

 

2/8/15 and 2/9/15 Alarm: Alarms (3) in SERF building called in by central dispatch, officer responded with negative results showing. No further action was taken by this agency.

 

2/8/15 Check on Well Being: A mother called requesting officers make contact with her son. He is sick and she cannot reach him.  Officers told the student to contact his mother and followed up with the mom and she verified that he had contacted her.

 

2/9/15 Warrant Served: A male subject was advised of warrants, placed under arrest without incident.

 

2/10/15 Warrant Served: Officers had an active arrest warrant for breaking and entering through Frostburg City Police Department. Officers made contact with the individual in Frederick Hall.  He was identified and placed under arrest.

 

2/10/15 Drug Law Violation: The Diehl Hall Resident Assistant reported an odor of marijuana from a room. Upon arrival, officers could smell the odor of marijuana as soon as they walked in the hallway. Two subjects were referred to the Judicial Board.

 

2/11/15 Harassment: A FSU student spoke with officers concerning an incident of soliciting sex over the internet. Investigation continuing.
