Crime Line 2/6-2/13

2/6/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the fourth floor of Edgewood Commons for a report of CDS paraphernalia. As a result of the investigation, the student was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana and referred to the judicial board.

2/6/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the sixth Floor of Westminster Hall regarding a complaint of the odor of CDS. Upon arrival, officers smelled the faint odor of marijuana in the sixth floor common room. Officers were unable to determine the source of the odor.

2/7/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 7-11 Store at the request Frostburg City Police. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police requested FSUPD to stand by with three occupants of a vehicle while they conducted a probable cause search. A search of the vehicle was conducted with negative results for contraband.

2/7/18 Noise Complaint: Officers were requested to assist the Frostburg City Police with an anonymous complaint of noise on College Avenue, Frostburg. Upon arrival, contact was made with the resident who advised they did have a small party but most people had left. Resident was given a verbal warning not to cause any further disturbances and the scene was cleared.

2/7/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the second floor of Diehl Hall for a strong odor of CDS complaint. Upon arrival, officers could smell an odor of marijuana on the second floor that quickly dissipated. A check of the second floor was conducted with officers unable to detect any odor coming from any room.

2/7/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Meshach Village at the request of Frostburg City Police for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police stated two male subjects were inside arguing and one of the males was under the influence of narcotics. Officers provided back up while Frostburg City Police conducted their investigation.

2/7/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a reported 911 hang-up call. The call originated through EOC and was believed to be made from either Hill Street or Mill Street. Officers checked both locations and reported no problems at either residence.

2/7/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for a report of found paraphernalia. As a result of the investigation, a judicial board referral was submitted.

2/7/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the third floor of Edgewood Commons for a reported CDS paraphernalia complaint. As a result of the investigation, a judicial board referral was submitted.

2/7/18 Weapons Complaint: Officers were dispatched to the third floor of Edgewood Commons for a policy violation. Investigation revealed the Resident Assistants had located several fixed blade knives inside the room during a fire & safety inspection. As a result of the investigation, the knives were seized and a judicial board referral was submitted.

2/7/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the third floor of Westminster Hall regarding the odor of CDS. Upon arrival, officers detected the odor of marijuana throughout the third floor but were unable to pinpoint the source. Residence Life staff notified.

2/7/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the fourth floor lounge of Frederick Hall regarding a person smoking marijuana. Upon arrival, the Resident Assistant stated she saw no one smoking marijuana but did smell marijuana in the lounge and then saw someone exit the lounge. No suspects were developed in the case. Officers noticed that the odor appeared to be the strongest in the lounge area.

2/8/18 Traffic Complaint: Officers were dispatched to the area of the State Street Lot for a report of a black SUV operating in a reckless manner. Officers sat in the area for a period of time and did not observe the suspected vehicle.

2/8/18 Parking Complaint: Caller reported her vehicle was blocked by several vehicles in the Gravel Lot behind the Lane Center.

2/8/18 Request for Officer: FSU student reported she parked her vehicle in the Frost parking lot, and the vehicle is now missing. Investigation revealed the vehicle in question was parked in the Center Street parking lot.

2/9/18 Traffic Accident: Frostburg City Police requested officers respond to the Domino’s Pizza parking lot on Center Street, Frostburg, for a traffic accident. No injuries were reported.

2/10/18 Assist Other Agency: While patrolling on College Avenue, Frostburg, officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with an open container citation.

2/10/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers were requested to respond to the Frostburg Armory to assist the Frostburg City Police with a disturbance and possible fight in progress. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police were already on the scene. Officers stood by as no further assistance was requested.

2/11/18 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with several male subjects about open containers at Alley 22, Center & Bowery, and Wood Street locations.

2/11/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers were approached by a female subject on Center Street, Frostburg, who advised she just called 911 in reference to her juvenile daughter who is out of control in her residence. After learning this information, officers contacted the Frostburg Police Department. Frostburg City Police arrived on the scene and handled the investigation.

2/12/18 Request for Officer: Cambridge Hall Housekeeper requested officers respond to the first floor for a subject attempting access to a vending machine with a coat hanger. The subject was gone on arrival. There was no damage to the vending machine.

2/12/18 Theft: Frost Hall Housekeeper reported some had broken into the vending machine. The door to the vending machine was open and it appeared most of the inventory inside of the machine was missing. Bittner Vending was contacted to respond to determine loss inventory. No surveillance video cameras are located in the area of the vending machines.

2/12/18 Traffic Accident: Officers were dispatched to the southwest end of Gunter Lot for an accident involving two parked vehicles. No injuries were reported.

2/13/18 Disturbance: Officers responded to the Administration Circle for a male subject yelling on his cellular phone and causing a disturbance. Contact was made with the subject who was identified to be an FSU employee. Subject was advised to calm down and to stop yelling. He complied, and officers left the area with no further issues.

2/13/18 Disturbance: Caller reported two males subjects ran into the Lane Center with a gun case and then left the building. Video surveillance revealed the two subjects got into a white VW Passat in the loading dock area outside of the Lane Center. Officers canvased the area but the vehicle was gone. A campus-wide email was sent since the circumstances surrounding the gun case were unknown and the two individuals appeared to be acting suspiciously. Officers were contacted by a Lane Center employee after seeing the email and advised the two males were her sons. She advised they had dirt bike parts in the case she had picked up after repairs were made. Employee was informed that was not the best method of transportation, especially if they are bringing it indoors. She agreed and advised it would not happen again.
