2/06/2019 Traffic Stop – Officers stopped a vehicle on Park Avenue for displaying expired tags. Warning issued.
2/06/2019 Traffic Stop – Traffic stop was initiated on Braddock Road on a vehicle with an inoperable left brake light. One written warning was issued for the violation.
2/06/2019 Traffic Stop – A vehicle was observed traveling on Bowery Street without a license plate. Upon the vehicle moving closer to the officer’s location, the license was lying face up in the rear window. The driver was issued a verbal warning for the violation.
2/06/2019 Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was conducted on College Avenue for a vehicle failing to display lighted headlights. One warning was issued.
2/07/2019 Fraud – Officers contacted the Comptroller’s Office in regards to a WEX Fuel Card, belonging to FSU which was used for a cash advance. The card was cancelled before a second cash advance was attempted.
2/07/2019 Noise Complaint – Officers responded to Allen Hall for a noise complaint. Contact was made with the subject on the 3rd floor who was advised to keep noise levels at minimum.
02/08/2019 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD in locating a female student. Subject was located near Cordt’s PE parking lot. Officers made contact with student until FPD was on scene.
02/08/2019 Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was initiated on Braddock Road for speeding. A citation was issued.
02/08/2019 Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was initiated on Braddock Road at University Drive. Driver was issued a written warning for speed and an equipment violation.
02/08/2019 Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was initiated on for speed. One warning issued.
02/08/2019 Traffic Stop – At Center Street / College Avenue. One warning issued for speed.
02/08/2019 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for the odor of CDS. The dorm room in question did not have the odor of any CDS. Officers attempted to make contact with the occupant.
02/08/2019 Animal Complaint – HQ was notified of a deceased deer in the middle of the roadway on Braddock Road. Officers moved the deer to the side of the road out of traffic. FPD notified.
02/08/2019 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD and ACSO with a trauma patient on Bowery Street.
02/08/2019 Assist Other Agency – Officers responded to Bowery Street to assist FPD with dispersing a large party.
02/10/2019 Traffic Accident – Officers responded to University Drive and Edgewood Commons for a traffic Accident. Vehicle information was exchanged. One vehicle lost control and slid into another vehicle striking the driver’s side front fender area. Neither party complained of injury. Both vehicles were able to be driven away from the accident.
02/11/2019 CDS – A contractor working in Diehl Hall reported the strong odor of marijuana on the first floor. Officers responded but were unable to pinpoint the source of the odor.
02/11/2019 Phishing Fraud – An FSU Faculty member reported that she received an email requesting she purchase an ITunes gift card and forward the code. The e-mail appeared to have been sent by her department chair but was in fact a phishing scheme. After the transaction was made the subject realized it was a fraud/theft scheme. Apple ITunes was contacted and disabled the cards and reimbursed the money before they could be used. A campus wide email advising the campus community to be cautious when receiving similar emails was sent out. A second report of a similar scheme was also received, in that case the employee realized that this was a fraud before acting on the request.
02/11/2019 Traffic Stop – While patrolling Braddock Road, officers observed a vehicle operating without illuminated lamps. A traffic stop was initiated. Dispatch advised that there was an active MSP tag pick-up order for an equipment violation. The operator was advised of the order and was allowed to park his vehicle in a nearby parking space. Tags were removed from the vehicle and forwarded to the MVA. The operator also received one written warning for failure to display lighted lamps in unfavorable conditions.
02/12/2019 Alarm – Allegany County Dispatch advised of a trouble alarm at Edgewood Commons. Officers responded and reset the alarm. Power at Edgewood has been blinking frequently during the day.
02/12/2019 – Traffic stop Officers initiated a traffic stop on College Ave for a vehicle being operated without headlights. Driver was issued a written warning for no headlights.
02/12/2019 Damage to Property – Officers responded to Stangle Lot for a tree that fell on a vehicle. A traffic accident information form was filled out and a copy was provided to the owner of the vehicle. The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
02/13/2019 Check on Wellbeing – Officers responded to College Avenue for a check on well-being. Contact was made. Subject advised he lost his phone and ID approximately 1 week ago. FPD also responded. Subject advised he would contact his father through his computer.
Summary period includes 136 calls for service and 6 traffic stops
