Crime Line 3/18 – 3/24
3/18/15 Alarm: Officers were dispatched to 150 Park Avenue “The Learning Company” for a report of trouble alarm activation. The alarm reset prior to police arrival. Officers observed that the alarm panel was reading normal and displayed no alarms. No further action taken.
3/18/15 Alarm: Officers responded to 7 American Ave. for a fire alarm. Upon arrival officers made contact with two students who stated they accidentally burnt food on their stove top which activated the alarm system. Officers reset the alarm with no additional problems.
3/18/15 Alarm: Officers were dispatched to 150 Park Avenue, The Learning Company, for fire alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers observed the alarm panel to be reading normal. The alarm panel reset itself prior to officer arrival. No further action taken.
3/19/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested an officer respond to the College Avenue Lot for a report of subjects ”Video Taping” children being dropped off at school. Upon arrival, officers observed one car in the College Ave Lot and no one was videotaping. The person with the vehicle was dropping their child off as well.
3/19/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers on patrol observed a significant amount of ice accumulation on the west side of 151 Hill St. Upon further observation and while conducting a foot patrol of the exterior of the residence, they noticed that water was actively running inside the residence. The Frostburg Police Department was contacted, resulting in a response to the residence. The Frostburg Water Department, as well as the property manager, responded to the scene and successfully turned the water off. While on the scene, officers were contacted by a Park Avenue resident, who indicated that he first observed ice accumulation on the exterior of the residence yesterday (3/18/15). It was later advised that the residence sustained significant damage due to the water line break.
3/21/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested an officer responded to Maple St., for a male subject who had entered the residence without permission. Upon arrival, officers met with Frostburg City Police who advised a male subject in custody entered the residence in an intoxicated state and was unable to provide a correct address. The male subject, not a current student at FSU, was later identified and issued a citation for disorderly conduct by Frostburg City Police. Due to this high level of intoxication, the subject was transported to the WMRMC by ambulance.
3/21/15 Open Container: Officers patrolling on E. College Ave. issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.
3/21/15 Open Container: Officers on patrol traveling east on Stoyer St., issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.
3/21/15 Open Container: Officers on Center St. issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.
3/21/15 Knock & Talk: Knock and Talks were conducted at Brynes Bar at the intersection of Center @ E. College Ave.
3/21/15 Check on Well Being: Officers observed an intoxicated male subject swaying and stumbling on E. College Ave near Beall St. Contact was made with the subject who was asked if he would like an escort for his safety. He refused as he had reached his destination on Beall and College Ave.
3/21/15 Traffic Arrest: Officers on patrol in a marked police vehicle, were traveling east on Charles Street towards Center Street, and observed a Honda Accord in front of them. The vehicle made a right hand turn onto Center Street, traveling the wrong way on a one way street. Driver was issued three vehicle traffic citations.
3/21/15 Open Container: Officers on Park Ln. issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.
3/21/15 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance at Bowery Street, Frostburg, to meet with a resident who advised that an unknown male subject entered her bedroom and passed out. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police were on the scene and made contact with the male subject in the bedroom area. The male advised he thought he was in his friend’s residence at also on Bowery St. Frostburg City Police placed the subject under arrest without incident.
3/21/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted a male who was assaulted by another male subject while walking through the parking lot at the rear of the Outback Bar. At that time, numerous FPD officers, as well as ambulance personnel and fire department personnel, arrived on scene. Officers then assisted the ambulance and fire personnel with lighting and crowd control. The male was transported by ambulance to WMRMC for further evaluation and treatment. Frostburg City Police handling the investigation.
3/22/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers were dispatched to the Wild Things Bar, E. Main St., Frostburg, to assist Frostburg City Police with a reported fight in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd of people but no fight.
3/23/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall, for the reported odor of marijuana. Six students were issued a civil citation for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana. In addition, officers retrieved one Smith & Wesson M&P40 style replica airsoft pistol from the residence. Resident Director on Duty notified.
3/24/15 Request for Officer: Student reported an unknown vehicle struck the passenger side rear quarter panel of his vehicle in the State Street parking lot. A search for the suspect vehicle was made with negative results.
