Crime Line 4/1 – 4/6

4/1/15 Fire: Officers were dispatched to a small brush fire in the mulch bed, located between the handicapped ramps, outside of the SW entrance of the CCIT building. They were able to extinguish the fire using a shovel.

 

 

4/1/15 Drug Law Violation: Resident Assistant advised of an odor of CDS marijuana in Frederick Hall. Upon arrival, officers immediately detected an odor that was identified as that of marijuana. Officers were unable to locate illegal contraband or detect exactly where the odor of marijuana was coming from. Resident Assistant notified.

 

4/1/15 Theft: Student reported his cell phone taken from the men’s 1st floor locker room, in the Cordts PE Center.

 

4/2/15 Damage to Property: Student’s father reported his son parked his vehicle in the Edgewood Commons parking lot on 3/4/2015 and when he returned to his vehicle, he found damage to the rear bumper area.

 

4/2/15 Tampering With Motor Vehicle: Student reported someone had tampered with her Toyota Camry while parked in the lot behind Cumberland Hall.

 

4/2/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall, for a report of an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers detected an odor of marijuana, and upon investigation located CDS paraphernalia. Judicial Board referral submitted.

 

4/2/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 35 Meshach Frost Village to assist Frostburg City Police with a check on well-being of a child at this residence.  Upon arrival, officers made contact with the child’s mother who was advised of the complaint and confirmed that the child is okay. Officers were invited into the residence where the child was observed sleeping in the living room.

 

4/3/15 Suspicious: Officers were dispatched to Pullen Hall, room 109, for a report of two suspicious subjects. Subjects were determined to be student employees and that a lab was being set up in that room.

 

4/3/15 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to assist the Frostburg City Police and Fire department at 109 Wood St. for a report of an apartment fire. Officers retrieved a fire extinguisher and entered the residence. They observed the stove and cabinets above the stove were on fire, they were able to douse the flames and put the fire out.  One resident was injured prior to officer’s arrival and transported to the hospital.  There was minor damage to the apartment.

 

4/3/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the area of Annapolis Hall, for a report of an odor of possible marijuana. Upon arrival, officers could detect an odor of marijuana in the hallway.  As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board referral was submitted.

 

 

4/6/15 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a complaint of marijuana. Upon entering the third floor, officers met with a maintenance worker who stated that while conducting a fire check he noticed a homemade water bong and marijuana sitting on the desk in a room. As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board Referral was submitted.

 

4/6/15 Arrest Warrant Service: Officers on patrol in a marked police vehicle were traveling north bound on Braddock Rd., when they observed a female subject walking north bound on the shoulder. Upon further observation, the officers recognized the subject, a former student, who was subject to an active bench warrant for failure to appear for a trial date.  Subject was arrested and then transported to the Allegany County Commissioner’s office for an initial appearance and later released on her own recognizance, pending the issuance of a new court date.

 

4/6/15 Suspicious: While performing a patrol check of the State Street Lot, officers were dispatched to a complaint of someone screaming from a north bound vehicle (no further description) on University Drive, near the area of Chesapeake Hall. Officers immediately left the parking lot and waited at the intersection of Park Avenue and University Drive to see if the vehicle continued north on University Drive, however no vehicle approached their location. Officers patrolled the lower dorms, the perimeter of Chesapeake Hall, and the surrounding area but were unable to locate any suspicious vehicles that may have been involved in the incident.
