Crime Line 4/10 – 4/16

04/10/2019 Assault – Officers were dispatched to Cordt’s PE Center for a Destruction of Property.  Upon arrival, contact was made with the manager who advised two individuals had been in an altercation over a piece of equipment. In the process, a mirror was broken by a weight.  After interviewing both subjects, officers  provided both with a Crime Victim’s pamphlet and advised how to pursue criminal charges if wished.  Both individuals were advised, at minimum, this case would be forwarded to the FSU Judicial Board for possible sanctions including restitution for the mirror.

 

04/10/2019 Traffic Accident – A student worker of FSU was involved in an accident in a State Vehicle after a tire exploded on a trailer from another traveling down the highway and then struck the windshield of the State vehicle.  An accident information exchange form was filled out.  Subject was not injured.

 

04/12/2019 Request for Officer – Subject contacted police headquarters advising a female student missed a step and twisted her ankle at Dunkle Hall.  Officers escorted the female to Brady Health Center.

 

04/12/2019 Harassment – Officers made contact with a student at Grey Hall regarding an incident where she advised of being followed by different individuals in the past on two separate occasions.  The student said on one occasion two males made fun of her in class, but ceased once she spoke to the professor about the behavior.  On another occasion last semester, an unknown male began following her after an orientation class back to her dorm.  The female asked why he was following her and he would only comment on her body, stating he wanted to have sex with her and mentioned drug use.  The female told the male to stop following her.  The female noticed the same male following her on another occasion from the Lane Center.  The female confronted the male and from this confrontation until today, the male has never bothered her again.  The female said she never contacted the police at the time.  Officer expressed importance of calling police in cases such as these.  Title IX Coordinator is familiar with this situation.

 

04/12/2019 CDS – Officers responded to Allen Hall for a report of a possible CDS odor.  Upon arrival, there was an odor in the stairwell.  After responding to the room in question and speaking with the occupant, there was not odor of CDS and the occupant was very cooperative.  No further action.

 

04/12/2019 Medical Emergency – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for a female who had fallen and reported she hurt her ankle.  Female was transported to WMRMC for medical treatment.

 

 

04/13/2019 DOP – Allegany County Joint Communications advised of a student busting out a window of Allen Hall, having lacerations and bleeding heavily. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male subject who advised he punched a window in the staircase door.  Male subject was transported to WMRMC for treatment.  Subject was judicially referred. Charges pending.

 

04/13/2019 Alarm – Headquarters received notification of a motion alarm on the BB&T ATM in the Lane Center.  Officers responded.  All was normal.

 

04/13/2019 CDS – While monitoring traffic on Braddock Road, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.  Upon approach to the vehicle, a slight odor of marijuana was detected.  After conducting a search of the vehicle, loose small amount of seeds, stems and flakes were located throughout the vehicle along with a package of marijuana.    Officers issued one citation for exceeding the maximum speed posted and one citation for possession of marijuana in the amount less than 10 grams.  Case closed by arrest and Judicial referral was submitted.

 

04/15/2019 Damage to Property – Subject came into headquarters to report while parked in Guild Lot, the wind caught the door of the vehicle parked next to his and struck his vehicle. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver spoken to.  A police report number was generated.

 

04/15/2019 Request for Officer – Officers responded to CCIT for an odor of CDS.  After a walk through of the entire second floor, no odor of CDS could be detected.

 

04/16/2019 Theft – Misdemeanor –Officers responded to Guild for a theft report of a wheelchair.  The Ocularis Camera System was checked and suspects are believed to be placing the wheelchair in a vehicle.  A vehicle possibly matching the description was located in the lot near Sowers Hall.  Information was gathered for the report.  Officers are following up on the theft.  UPDATE:  Suspect identified.  Wheelchair recovered.  Charges pending and judicial board referral forthcoming.

 

04/16/2019 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD with an unconscious subject.  Upon arrival, EMS was on scene.

 

04/16/2019 Assault – Officers responded to Frederick Hall for a possible disturbance in progress.  Upon arrival, officers found two females were involved in a physical altercation over a tv controller.  Both females were directed to meet with the RD to resolve their problems.  They were informed of their District Court Rights for assault charges.  J-Board was sent.

 

04/16/2019 CDS – Officers were requested to the Tennis Court area for a report of a hypodermic needle laying on the ground. Medical gloves were worn to retrieve the needle from the ground and placed it into the sharps container in the vehicle before returning to Headquarters.

 

04/16/2019 Hit and Run– Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for a report of a hit and run vehicle accident.  The victim advised he was notified by friends that his vehicle was hit by another vehicle and the vehicle left the scene.  After reviewing the Ocularis Camera System the suspect vehicle, matching the description was located. The driver denied being involved in an accident.  Damage to the suspect vehicle was photographed.  He was issued one ETIX citation for failure of a vehicle. Driver in an accident to locate and notify owner of unattended veh. of property damage.  Officers met with the complainant and a motor vehicle collision information exchange form was completed.  The accident was caught on the Ocularis Camera System and the footage has been saved.

 

Summary period includes 128 calls for service and 62 traffic stops
