Crime Line 4/24 – 4/30

04/24/2019 Fire Alarm: Officers were dispatched to the Guild Center for a report of a fire alarm activation in room 117. Upon arrival in the area, it was observed that the City of Frostburg Department of Public Works was conducting scheduled sewer testing using smoke. No fire or dangerous conditions were discovered. Frostburg Fire Department personnel arrived and began ventilating the smoke from the building. After the smoke was ventilated from the building, all units cleared the scene.

 

04/25/2019 Alarm – 911 received a burglary alarm from the S.E.R.F. buildings main entrance. Officers responded.

 

04/25/2019 Assist Motorist – Officers responded to the P.E. Center Parking Lot for an assist motorist call.  Battery dead and keys locked inside the vehicle. The keys were retrieved from inside the vehicle. The battery was also dead and the complainant advised he had a friend to assist with jump.

 

04/25/2019 Alarm – 911 received a trouble alarm notification in Compton Hall.  Officer responded and advised that panel is reading dirty smoke detector, second floor lobby.  Tour Engineer was contacted and a work order was submitted.

 

04/25/2019 CDS – A traffic stop was initiated on Bowery @ American Avenue due to the operator of the vehicle not being restrained by a safety belt.  An odor of CDS was detected while speaking with the subjects.  As a result of the stop an E-tix citation was issued to the driver for a safety belt violation and a civil citation was issued to the rear passenger for the possession of marijuana in the amount of less than 10 grams.

 

04/26/2019 CDS – Officers responded to Westminster Hall for an odor of CDS.  As a result of the investigation a judicial referral was submitted and Residence Life staff was advised of the outcome.

 

04/26/2019 Request for Officer – UPD was notified of possible odor of CDS at Allen Hall.  Upon arrival the origin of the odor was a small storage closet.  Cigarette smoke was the cause of the haze and odor.  No subject were in the area.

 

04/26/2019 Suspicious – While on patrol officers stopped an individual who was trying to drift an ATV on Charles Street towards B&B Meats.  Subject was advised he would have to contact someone with a truck and remove the ATV from the roadway.  Shortly thereafter, a truck arrived on scene to transport the ATV.

 

04/27/2019 Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD with a possible domestic disturbance on Beall Street.  FSUPD stood by with a female, as FPD conducted a cursory scan of the residence for other suspects/victims.  As a result of the investigation a judicial referral was submitted for the male subject, an FSU student.

 

 

04/28/2019 Assault – After receiving an anonymous call, officers responded to Westminster Hall for a female in distress.  Upon arrival, subjects were separated and transported to WMRMC in separate ambulances.  The male subject was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault.  Male subject is not a student, therefore was issued a No Trespass Notice.

 

04/28/2019 CDS – UPD was contacted regarding Diehl Hall smelling like marijuana.  Upon making contact with occupants a search was conducted and CDS was located.  One subject was charged with possession of less than 10 grams and referred to the FSU judicial process.

 

04/29/2019 Alarm – Housekeeping contacted headquarters to advise they accidently activated a fire alarm in the Press Box.  Officers responded.

 

04/30/2019 Damage to Property – Officers met with Ruby General Contractor owner who advised a piece of construction equipment sustained damage overnight.  The window that was damaged was facing toward the baseball field and was in close proximate to the outfield fence.  There is a probability a baseball struck the window causing the damage.  After checking the Ocularis system there was no suspicious activity observed around the equipment.
