Crime Line 4/4-4/9

4/4/18 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the area of Pullen Hall regarding two females yelling and creating a disturbance. Officers patrolled CCIT and checked the upper quad but were unable to locate the subjects.

4/4/18 Theft: FSU student reported he placed his wallet into a locker in the hallway near the weight room in Cordt’s PE Center, and shortly thereafter, when he returned his wallet was gone. Investigation revealed the student’s wallet was brought to Police Headquarters yesterday evening and placed into found property. No loss to victim.

4/5/18 Information: Complainant reported she was in the Lane University Center between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m., and while sitting with some friends in the lounge area, she overheard an unidentified male subject state he would shoot someone unknown to the complainant. The speaker was with group of males and females. The investigation is continuing, however by all appearances the individual was merely venting inappropriately.

4/6/18 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the Fine Arts building for a reported fire in room 103. Investigation revealed a candle that had been left on a hot plate. No fire department response was necessary as there was no fire.

4/7/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to the Seven Eleven Convenience Store, 125 E. Main Street, Frostburg, to assist the Frostburg Police Department at their request with a fight in progress. Officers made contact with Frostburg City Police who advised the subjects involved were gone on arrival.

4/7/18 Suspicious: FSU biology professor reported observing a subject, possibly with a shotgun, standing in the doorway of a residence on Center Street. A specific Center Street address was not known and the complainant did not provide a description of the suspicious person. The Frostburg Police Department were immediately notified of the complaint, prompting a police response by both agencies. Upon arrival, officers checked Center Street, as well as various other surrounding areas, but were unable to locate anyone with a firearm. As a follow-up to this complaint, officers attempted to contact the complainant with negative results.

4/7/18 Hit & Run: While on patrol, officers observed damage to the wooden guardrail located between the Frederick and Cumberland Residence Halls (adjacent to the Annapolis Lot). A suspect has been identified, and the investigation is continuing.

4/8/18 Damage to Property: An FSU Safe Ride driver reported she was operating the Safe Ride Van #48 and that the vehicle had a flat tire. She believed that she struck a rock, causing it to puncture the tire when she was turning into Edgewood Commons. An FSU Motor Vehicle Accident form was completed. No injuries were reported.

4/8/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Bowery Street to assist the Frostburg Police Department with a noise complaint. A citation was not issued, as the noise within the house did not meet the criteria necessary for a violation of the city noise ordinance.

4/8/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers were dispatched to Hill Street, Frostburg, to assist Frostburg City Police with a large party. Upon arrival, Frostburg City Police advised that everything was under control and most of the party attendees had left the area.

4/9/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with investigating a theft involving an FSU student.

4/9/18 Community Policing: Officers were at the Chesapeake Dining Hall during the NASA Middle School Field Trip and spoke to several employees and teachers.
