4/11/18 Theft: An FSU student reported her silver Ford Focus was parked in the State Street parking lot and had been broken into. A review of the surveillance camera footage revealed four males had entered the vehicle at 1:55 a.m. on April 10, 2018 and remained in the vehicle until 2:28 a.m. Officers were able to identify one male subject. The investigation is continuing.
4/11/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the first floor of Cumberland Hall for the odor of marijuana. As a result of the investigation, a judicial board referral was submitted.
4/11/18 Hit & Run: An FSU student reported her Jeep Renegade had been struck while parked in the State Street Lot.
4/11/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Maple Terrace, Frostburg at the request of Frostburg City Police to stand-by for a vehicle search. The vehicle had two occupants that were not FSU students.
4/12/18 Noise Complaint: Officers were dispatched to the exterior of Cumberland Hall for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers observed a white Ford Mustang with the radio on but not blasting. The driver was asked to turn it down and move his vehicle to an actual parking spot.
4/12/18 Parking Complaint: Caller reported a blue SUV parked in the Starbucks 15 minute space for over an hour. Officers responded and issued a parking citation.
4/13/18 Community Policing: Officers participated in an Active Shooter Drill at Beall Elementary School, E. College Avenue, Frostburg.
4/13/18 Drug Law Violation: Edgewood Commons Resident Assistants reported CDS was observed in a second floor residence while conducting a fire & safety inspection. As a result of the investigation, a judicial board referral was submitted.
4/13/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the second floor of Edgewood Commons for CDS in a student’s room. As a result of the investigation, a judicial board referral was submitted.
4/14/18 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with approximately 75 to 100 people at a Bowery Street residence.
4/14/18 Community Policing: Officers, along with Frostburg City Police, conducted a foot patrol on Bowery Street and Center Street and observed no violations. They spoke with several students along the way.
4/14/18 Liquor Law Violation: Officers responded to the main entrance of Allen Hall for an unconscious female. Upon arrival, officers observed a female student asleep on the couch. After several minutes of trying to wake her, the female woke up and was confused. The student was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage and was escorted to her second floor residence where she resides. A judicial board referral was submitted.
4/12/18 Request for Officer: Officers were dispatched to the Student Affairs office for a student who was being disruptive. Officers escorted the student from the building without incident.
4/12/18 TIPS: Anonymous caller reported a crowd of people drinking in front of a house on East College Avenue and setting a bad example for the elementary school children who were walking by.
4/12/18 Request for Officer: Officers were dispatched to the first floor of Simpson Hall for an odor of CDS. Officers checked the entire first floor and found no odor of CDS.
4/12/18 Drug Law Violation: Officers were dispatched to the fourth floor of Edgewood Commons for a CDS complaint. As a result of the investigation, two residents were issued civil citations for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and referred to the judicial board.
4/12/18 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with the residents of E. College Avenue and Center Street to advise them to turn down the music and stay off the sidewalks and to inform them about underage drinking.
4/12/18 Crime Prevention: Officers attended the Civility Forum in the Lane Center.
4/12/18 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested assistance at Bobcat Court for a large party. Upon arrival, the crowd had cleared.
4/12/18 Disturbance: Officers responded to the first floor of Simpson Hall for a disturbance. Investigation revealed a female student wanted her ex-boyfriend to leave, and he refused. She was asked if there was any assault, to which she replied no. Male subject stated he would leave without incident. Subject was told to not contact the student for the rest of the night.
4/12/18 Hit & Run: Officers responded to the Edgewood Commons parking lot for a hit and run complaint involving property damage to a vehicle. The investigation is continuing.
4/14/18 Traffic Accident: Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic accident that occurred on University Drive. Both vehicles were able to be removed from the scene. There were no injuries reported.
4/14/18 Liquor Law Violation: While conducting a patrol check in State Street lot, officers observed three male subjects at the back of a red pickup truck with silver cans on the ground behind them along with a cooler next to the truck. As a result of the investigation, three civil citations were issued for Possession of Alcohol under 21. A judicial board referral was also submitted.
4/14/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a noise complaint at Bobcat Court.
4/15/18 Community Policing: Officers conducted a ride-along with a current FSU Law and Society student who is interested in a career in law enforcement.
4/16/18 Notification: FSU employee contacted the police for mandatory abuse reporting regarding a student.
4/16/18 Animal Complaint: Officers located a dog in the intersection of Broadway and Park Avenue, Frostburg. Owner was located at a Park Avenue, Frostburg residence.
4/16/18 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted FBI regarding a non-student resident of Mill Street, Frostburg.
4/16/18 Request for Officer: Officers responded to the first floor of Cumberland Hall for an odor of CDS. Officers walked the entire first floor and were unable to detect any odor of CDS.
4/16/18 Traffic Arrest: While patrolling near Sand Spring Hall, officers observed an orange Suzuki passenger vehicle hit the guard rails in front of Frederick Hall. The driver was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license. Pictures were taken of vehicle and the guard rail in front of Frederick Hall.
4/17/18 Damage to Property: An FSU employee reported the state vehicle she was driving was struck while in Frederick, Md. An FSUPD Motor Vehicle Accident Information form was completed by the driver. No injuries were reported.
4/17/18 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab at 301 Braddock Road for an unauthorized entry activation. Officers checked the entire building and exterior and did not see anything suspicious.
