Crime Line: 9/14 – 9/21

9/14/16 Information: Caller reported several people knocking on her door looking in windows with a flashlight on Linden St., Frostburg.  Call was referred to Frostburg City Police.

9/14/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Simpson Hall for a report of the odor of burnt marijuana.  Officers responded to the second floor lounge and were unable to detect the odor of burnt marijuana. No students were present in the lounge or the hallway.

9/15/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a CDS complaint made by the Edgewood Commons staff who discovered suspected CDS while performing a fire & safety inspection.  As a result of the investigation two students were referred to the Judicial board.

9/15/16 Notification: FSU Music employee reported he went to his office in the Performing Arts Center on 9/15/16 and found someone had torn all the papers off his office door.

9/15/16 Knock & Talk: A “Knock & Talk” was conducted at Byrnsies Bar on Center St., Frostburg.

9/16/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Maple St., Frostburg, at the request of the Frostburg Police Department, to assist with a noise complaint. As a result of the investigation one student was issued a civil citation for an alcohol violation and referred to the judicial board.

9/16/16 Destruction of Property: FSU student reported his vehicle had been vandalized (keyed) while parked in Lowndes parking lot. Victim reported this incident for insurance purposes only.

9/16/16 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with the residents at Maple Street about loud music and also spoke to patrons at Highway Pizza at E. College Avenue, Frostburg.

9/16/16 Drug Law Violation: While on patrol, officers observed 2005 Subaru enter the Edgewood Commons Apartments facility from University Drive with no lights illuminated on the rear of the vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and as a result of the investigation the passenger, (a non-student) will be charged criminally for possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The operator was issued a traffic citation and referred to the judicial board for possession of CRD paraphernalia.

9/17/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers responded to Frost Hall, for a check on well-being. Upon arrival, contact was made with the complainant who advised she observed a male student stumbling about the building. Contact was made with the male student in his residence who was observed lying in his bed and had obviously vomited into a near-by trash can and down the side of his bed. The student advised he had consumed Jack and was issued a civil citation for under age possession of alcohol and referred to the judicial board.

9/17/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to Bowery St. @ Main St., Frostburg, to assist Allegany County Sheriff with a traffic stop.

9/17/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall, for an odor of marijuana. The call was unfounded.

9/17/16 Liquor law Violation: Officers responded to Annapolis Hall, for the possible alcohol poisoning. One student was issued a civil citation for underage consumption of alcohol and refused medical transport.

9/17/16 Hit & Run: Officers responded to a hit and run in the Brady Lot.

9/17/16 Check on Well-Being: Officers observed a female subject walking up E. College Ave., Frostburg, who was staggering and appeared intoxicated. Contact was made with the individual who was identified to be over the age of 21. Subject was asked if she would like an escort to her residence, which she declined.

9/17/16 Request for Officer: Officers responded to Sowers Hall for a possible alcohol violation. The call was unfounded.

9/17/16 Request for Officer: Officers were dispatched to the Stadium parking lot for a report of a suspicious subject in a vehicle. Contact was made with the subject who advised he was taking a nap and was wearing a CPAP mask to aid his breathing.

   9/17/16 Suspicious: While conducting a patrol check of the State Street parking Lot, officers observed a red Infiniti passenger vehicle parked, with three people occupying the vehicle, and with the windows of the vehicle to be fogged and movement within. Contact was made with the driver, and determined no illegal activities.

9/17/16 Skateboard Complaint: Officers patrolling University Drive observed a male subject begin riding a skateboard through the Lowndes parking lot. The student was referred to the judicial board.

9/17/16 Liquor Law Violation: Officers patrolling Bowery Street, in Frostburg, observed a female FSU student, dancing down the sidewalk with a red plastic cup in her hand.  As a result of the contact the student was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage under the age of 21 years old and referred to the judicial board.

9/18/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers stood-by while Frostburg City Police issued a underage drinking citation to a student who resides Westminster Hall.

9/21/16 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to the Bowery Street, Frostburg, to assist the Frostburg City Police with a reported theft of a firearm. Officers stood by and assisted Frostburg City Police while they conducted an investigation into whether the suspect had taken a firearm from the complainant. Both subjects were identified to not be FSU students. The firearm, a .22 caliber pump rifle, was recovered and held by Frostburg City Police pending further investigation.

9/21/16 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to the bus stop in Guild Lot on Center St. Frostburg for a report of individuals smoking suspected marijuana inside the bus stop. As a result of the investigation one civil citation for possession of marijuana less than 10 grams was issued and six individuals were referred to the judicial board.
