09/19/2018 Crime Prevention – Lane Center, speaking to Safe Ride Drivers

 

09/19/2018 Emergency Phone – Blue light activated at Cumberland Hall.  Nobody in the vicinity of the emergency light upon arrival.  After video review is was determined that the activation was a malfunction.

 

09/19/2018 Request for officer – Call came into HQ for a CDS odor complaint at Edgewood.  Upon arrival there was no noticeable odor of marijuana present.

 

09/19/2018 Alarm – Lane Center. Officers responded to the Lane Center to a trouble alarm activation.  Panel was checked in the mechanical room and no trouble alarms were active at present.  Panel indicated a normal function.

 

09/19/2018 Traffic Stop – A traffic stop was initiated at Water Street and Park Avenue.  The vehicle accelerated from a stop and spun his wheels for several seconds on two separate occasions.  Driver issued a written warning for the violation.

 

09/20/2018 Crime Prevention – Traffic stop imitated on University Drive on a vehicle missing the front plate.  A warning was issued for failure to attach front / rear registration.

 

09/20/2018 Community Policing – Officer made contact with several students and staff in the VA Center.

 

09/20/2018– Assist Motorist – Osbourne Newman Center Parking Lot – Assisted motorist with a successful jump start.

 

09/20/2018 Request for Officer – Headquarters was advised that the entrance to PAC/PE was blocked by students.  Upon arrival, students were in the grass area not blocking the entrance.

 

09/21/2018– Breaking and Entering – After receiving a walk in complaint for damage to property, officers responded to Edgewood Commons.  As a result of the investigation A suspect was charged with Breaking and Entering, Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and Theft of less than $1000.

 

09/21/2018– Stalking – Complainant reported to repeatedly being harassed and stalked by a male subject.  Complainant did not want the male subject charged criminally.  In lieu of a criminal investigation she asked the incident be referred through the Student Services and Title IX.  Reports were forwarded.

 

09/21/2018 -–Request for officer – Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for a CDS complaint.  Officers located the room that the odor was coming from.  As a result of the investigation a judicial referral was made.

09/21/2018–Traffic Accident College Avenue @ University Drive – One subject cited for a vehicle accident.  Failure to provide registration card and driving on a suspended license after hitting a parked vehicle.

 

09/22/2018–Assist other Agency   Officers responded to Bowery Street for a noise complaint. Contact was made with resident and was advised of the complaint and music was turned off.  A verbal warning was issued for the noise violation.

 

09/23/2018–Assist other Agency FPD- Assisted with a large crowd and roadway blockage at Stoyer and Center Street.

 

09/23/2018–Assist other Agency – FPD – Officers were called to assist with a foot pursuit from 7-11 towards Bowery Street.  A short time later dispatch gave an all clear.

 

09/23/2018–Assist other Agency – FPD- Officers from multiple agencies assisted with a disturbance on Wood Street with a large crowd in the street, yard and in the residence. Students eventually began to disperse. As a result of the incident multiple students were referred to Student Affairs for violations of the FSU Student Conduct Policy.

 

 

Summary period includes 114 calls for service and 19 traffic stops.
