Crime Lines 02/15/2022 – 02/21/2022

02/15/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Assisted FPD at the Quality Inn for an upset subject who had an argument with his girlfriend. Officers spoke with the male non-student to calm him down.

02/15/2022 Suspicious – While on patrol officers came upon an individual sitting on the sidewalk who advised he was not ok. After speaking with the FSU student, he advised he had a leg cramp from running. Medical assistance was not needed. The subject left the scene on foot.

02/16/2022 Request for Officer – Officers responded to the Lane Center to meet with an FSU student who advised she was being threatened by other students in the Lane Center. After speaking with (5) five individuals who all gave very similar statements, all students that were involved were advised that the incident would be referred to Student Affairs for a review and follow up. The incident was caught on the Ocular Camera System.

02/16/2022 CDS – Officers responded to Frederick Hall for an odor of CDS. Upon arrival officers smelled the distinct and strong odor of marijuana emitting from the room in question. As a result of the investigation Judicial Board Referrals were submitted.

02/17/2022 Request for Officer – FSU employee reported a textbook was taken from an office in Compton Science Center. The investigation is continuing,

02/17/2022 Request for Officer – An FSU student reported he went to the student mailroom in Frederick Hall to pick up an Amazon package he ordered and was told someone with his ID already picked it up. The student stated that he only has one school ID and hasn’t lost any ID’s. The officer explained to him that he would check into the matter and get back with him. Officer stopped by the student’s mailroom at this time, and it was closed for the day. He will follow up with the case when it opens again.

02/17/2022 Narcotics Complaint – RA from Westminster Hall contacted UPD requesting an officer for an odor of CDS. As a result of the investigation Judicial Board referral were submitted.

02/18/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Frederick Hall to test new fire extinguisher alarm systems that were recently installed. Upon arrival a moderate odor of marijuana could be detected throughout the entire main hallway. Officers were unable to pinpoint the source of the origin.

02/18/2022 CDS – Officers were dispatched to Annapolis Hall for an odor of marijuana. As the officer approached the room in question, a strong odor of marijuana was emitting from the room. As a result of the investigation a J-Board referral was submitted for an FSU student and two non-FSU students were escorted from the residence hall and advised to leave FSU campus.

02/19/2022 Fraud – Officers spoke with a parent of an FSU student who received a fraudulent email offering work. A check was deposited into a checking account however the check did not clear. The complainants bank and FBI were notified of the fraudulent emails. The complainants were sent a Crime Victims and Witnesses pamphlet and advised about possible scams and fraud to watch out for.

02/21/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers were dispatched to Annapolis Hall for an odor of marijuana. As a s result of the investigation a Judicial Board Referral was completed.

02/21/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Frederick Hall for an odor of marijuana. After a walk through, officers were unable to locate the origin of the odor.

Summary period includes 140 calls for service and 5 traffic stops.
