02/21/2023 Narcotics Complaint — Request for Counselor – Officers responded to Brownsville Hall for report of an odor of marijuana. Contact was made with the resident of the room where a strong odor was emitting. The FSU student admitted to smoking marijuana within the room. Confiscated was a marijuana cigarette that was partially consumed. After speaking with the individual, he requested to speak with a counselor. He advised he was not suicidal and did not wish to hurt himself, he just wanted to speak with someone. Upon returning to FSUPD HQ, the marijuana cigarette was placed into evidence. Judicial Board referral submitted.
02/22/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD assisted FPD and EMS with a medical emergency on Bowery Street. Unknown if FSU student was involved.
02/22/2023 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Brownsville Hall for an odor of CDS. Upon arrival, officers conducted a foot patrol with negative results for any odor of marijuana in the hallway and near the room in question.
02/22/2023 Suspicious – While conducting a foot patrol in the Upper Quad, officers observed a resident dumping liquid out of a window in Allen Hall. Contact was made with the individual who stated he was dumping old juices from his refrigerator out. He was advised to utilize the sink or garbage for disposal. Also, he was not permitted to remove his screen due to safety and security issues.
02/23/2023 Officer Stand By – Officers responded to the area of Administration Circle for an officer stand-by. Officers remained in the area while an employee was terminated from the University. Officers cleared with no issues reported.
02/23/2023 Suspicious – A female individual reported to Headquarters that she received an unprofessional call from a male individual, and she ended the call. IT was contacted and the male individuals contact number was located. The officers made contact with the subject and advised to him that comments or questions of that nature are personal and when asked from someone they do not know, it can upset them and make them uncomfortable. The male caller advised he understood.
02/23/2023 Arrest Warrant Service
02/23/2023 Prisoner Transport – A Fairfax County detective contacted Headquarters asking if FSUPD could attempt to locate a student at FSU. She is wanted by Fairfax County Police for a felony dog theft case. A wanted check was completed on the subject and a hit was confirmed. Extradition was approved for MD/DC. Information was given to patrol. Officers later made contact with the FSU student at police headquarters and took her into custody. Dean Crowe was notified, and an interim suspension was issued. Prisoner was transported to ACDC then to District Court.
02/24/2023 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Allen Hall for the smell of burnt marijuana. Upon entering the second-floor hallway officers detected a mild odor of burnt marijuana. Contact was made with the FSU student in the suspected room. The male subject admitted to smoking marijuana earlier and stated he did not possess anymore marijuana. Officers explained to the subject on the University polices on marijuana and covering the smoke detector. The FSU student was further explained he would be receiving a Judicial referral and the consequences of his actions. No further police action taken by this Department.
02/25/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FPD requested assistance on Broadway for a disturbance. Upon arrival, all parties had departed.
02/26/2023 Disorderly Conduct – While patrolling the area of the Beach Club, officers heard a disturbance at the front door and watched a male exit the business screaming at a group of people. Immediately after the male left the building , he ran into the parking lot area and began shoving an unknown male in the back continuing to yell attempting to provoke a fight. The subject was detained and was placed under arrest without incident. Subject was issued a citation for disorderly conduct for his instigation of the public disturbance. The male subject was not an FSU student.
02/26/2023 Emergency Petition – Officers made contact with a female individual who was observed by food delivery drivers to be stumbling and crying while walking up East College and University Drive. The food delivery drivers stopped to offer assistance to the subject. Due to the condition of the female, the drivers contacted University Police. Upon officers’ arrival, the subject was hunched over in the rear seat of a vehicle, was intoxicated, and needed medical attention. The female was unable to complete coherent sentences and was unable to answer most of the questions asked of her. EMS arrived on scene and transported the female to UPMC to be evaluated. Officers followed the ambulance to UPMC Cumberland. After arriving at UPMC Cumberland, the female’s demeanor and attitude drastically changed and she became violent, yelling and cursing at staff requiring her to be restrained and medicated. Emergency petitions paperwork was completed.
02/27/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to McCulloh Street to assist FPD with a disturbance and possible breaking and entering. While FPD was speaking with the complainant, FSUPD located the suspect on Green Street at McCulloh Street and detained him. FPD transported the subject back to McCulloh Street. FPD conducted the interviews. No further action taken by FSUPD.
