Crime Lines 03/28/2023 – 04/03/2023
03/28/2023 Administrative Search – After receiving information that a student was suspected of having a handgun in his residence, Administration requested officers for an administrative search. Officers responded to Frederick Hall and keyed into the room as the subject did not answer the door. Located were CDS paraphernalia, CDS residue, hunting knives and a semi auto handgun. The owner, who did not realize the gun was missing, was contacted, and advised he wanted the gun destroyed. Judicial Referral Submitted, student was suspended and not allowed on campus.
03/29/2023 Request For Officer – An anonymous male student contacted UPD stating that he saw two males running back and forth to a white jeep and the vehicle’s alarm system was going off. Officers responded to the Performing Arts Center Lot for a possible tampering with a motor vehicle complaint. Officers spoke with the complainant and obtained a clothing description of the two male subjects. Officers proceeded to the vehicle in question and did not observe any signs of forced or attempted forced entry. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and was identified as a FSU student, who advised he was trying to get into his vehicle as he locked the keys inside. He was able to retrieve the keys prior to the arrival of the police.
03/30/2023 Assist Other Agency – FSUPD assisted Towson University Police with a previous incident.
03/30/2023 Assist Other Agency – Subpoena Service to an FSU student at the request of The States Attorney’s Office.
03/30/2023 CDS – Officers responded to Westminster Hall at the request of The States Attorney’s Office to serve several subpoenas for an upcoming court case. After entering the second-floor hallway officers detected the strong and distinct odor of marijuana. Officers opened the bathroom door to a restroom full of smoke and observed two males, both FSU students who were currently smoking a marijuana cigarette. The students surrendered the marijuana cigarette to officers and were advised of the Universities policy’s regarding narcotic use. Judicial Board referral completed.
03/30/2023 Disturbance – Caller advised of a possible disturbance in a vehicle in the P.E. Center Lot. Officers responded and no disturbance was found.
03/31/2023 Trespassing – An FSU RA contacted FSUPD to advise a suspended student, who had been issued a no trespassing notice, was in Frederick Hall. Upon arrival to Frederick Hall, officers were unable to locate the subject. After reviewing the Ocularis System, was observed that the former FSU student entered Frederick Hall with another FSU student and left Frederick Hall alone. The FSU ID used to enter Frederick Hall was issued to another student. Both FSU students who enabled the suspended student to enter Frederick Hall have been referred to the Judicial Board.
03/31/2023 Attempt Warrant SVC FSUPD – Officers attempted to serve a search at Westminster Hall to an FSU student. Negative contact.
04/01/2023 Breaking and Entering – Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a theft report. Negative contact was made with the complainant. Officers spoke to the RA in the RA After investigation the case was referred to Student Affairs for a review and follow up. Judicial Board Referral submitted.
04/01/23 Warrant Service FSUPD– Officers responded to Westminster Hall to execute a search and seizure warrant related to a case at Towson University. Judicial Board Referral Submitted following service. Two iPhones were seized and taken to FSUPD HQ where they were documented and placed into temporary evidence.
04/03/2023 Traffic Accident – Frostburg Police Department requested assistance to respond to a traffic collision that one of their officers and departmental vehicles were involved in. The accident happened at a traffic light. Both vehicles were driven to Sheetz parking area to get out of traffic. There were no injuries to all (5) five involved parties. An FSUPD “Motor Vehicle Collision Information Exchange Form” was completed and provided to both operators. Due to a police vehicle/local government vehicle being involved in the collision, and ACRS report was required and requested by FPD.
Summary period includes 100 calls for service and 16 traffic stop.
