Crime Lines 09/05/2023 – 09/11/2023
09/06/2023 Theft – Student came into FSUPD to report his AirPod Pro Plus earbuds stolen. He said he believes they were stolen from a party he had at his house on Bowery St. on 9-5-23. Using the ‘Find My’ app on his cell phone, it showed the location to be somewhere in the vicinity of Gray Hall. Not knowing anyone living in Gray Hall could not pinpoint a location. Student will notify us if the location changes.
09/07/2023 Traffic Accident – Officers responded to Pullen Lot for a report of a minor traffic accident. Two vehicles were involved and both sustained minor damages. The eTix information exchange form was completed for both parties and exchanged. No injuries sustained.
09/07/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FPD requested use of our vehicle jump box for a jump start of a disabled vehicle on Main St. Officer delivered said box to location for a successful jumpstart.
09/07/2023 Assist Motorist – Officer was flagged down on University Dr by a motorist who was lost and could not find the new Multicultural Center. Officer was happy to direct subject to location. Contact was made with son, and he was told to phone his mother. Dispatch called mother to inform her contact was made and son will be calling shortly.
09/08/2023 Request for Officer – An FSU student contacted HQ advising she was lost trying to drive from College Avenue Lot to Gray Hall. She was having a panic attack due to leaving her license in her dorm room. Officers responded and escorted the student to Gray Hall. A tow company was notified at the request of her parents.
09/08/2023 Vandalism – Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for spray painted drawings in a parking space in the upper southwest parking lot. Occularis camera EXT Edgewood-SW Parking Lot was reviewed, and results were inconclusive. Suspended at this time as there are no suspects.
09/09/2023 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for possible CDS located by an RA. Two pill capsules were retrieved from different locations on the third floor. The pills appeared to have been dropped and stepped on. The pills were determined not to be a controlled substance. Due to the condition of the pills, as well as not knowing to whom they belonged or were prescribed, officers placed the pills into the green medicine take-back box located in the lobby of the police station for later disposal.
09/09/2023 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted in searching for an abducted girl. Upon searching near Frost Ave in the area of Howard Street, officers located a male in the company of a young female. Officers placed the male in handcuffs and provided safety to the young girl in the patrol vehicle until FPD arrived on scene. EMS arrived on scene and transported the female to UPMC. C31 requested that an officer with body camera ride with transport of the male suspect to Cumberland PD. Male suspect was placed in the holding cell at Cumberland PD.
09/10/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers overheard radio transmission from MSP conducting a traffic stop near Frostburg Sheetz. The Trooper requested additional units after his initial contact as he observed the operator wearing a “plated style vest” with a backpack in the passenger seat. MSP dispatch also advised the male was showing a possible wanted to hit out of Montgomery County, MD for assault. This operator had multiple caution codes including known to be armed and dangerous. FPD was requested however was handling a DUI arrest . FSUPD elected to respond to assist MSP. Officers approached the vehicle to speak with the operator. The operator was asked to exit the vehicle which he did without incident. MSP placed the subject in custody without incident.
09/10/2023 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD Officers assisted FPD in searching for subjects possibly in a vacant house near College Ave. Officers patrolled the address in question. No one was located in the building. Officers canvased the area and observed no one matching the limited information that was provided.
09/11/2023 Disturbance – Officers were dispatched to the area of Edgewood Commons Parking Lot after headquarters received a call advising the complainant could hear a heated argument but did not see anything. Officers patrolled the area with negative findings.
– Officers responded to W. Mechanic Street at the request of FPD for a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, parties were separated and FPD advised the incident was verbal only. Nothing further from FSUPD.
Summary period includes 98 calls for service and 13 traffic stops.
