Crime Lines 09/13/2022 – 09/19/2022

09/13/2022 Assist Other Agency – FSUPD was monitoring radio traffic when they heard Frostburg City Police radio traffic for a suspicious call of subjects entering a residence through a window on Hill Street. Upon FSUPD arrival Frostburg City was on the scene and was able to contact the subjects. FSUPD stood by until no further assistance was needed. The subjects were not current FSU students.

09/14/2022 Request For Officer – Officers responded to Frost/Cook Chapel Lot where fake ammunition was found in the flower bed and mulch area. Officers returned to headquarters to discard the fake bandolier.

09/15/2022 Request For Officer – FSU Head Track and Field Coach contacted headquarters to report an incident of wiretapping by a student. Following an Investigation, a Judicial Board Referral was submitted.

09/15/2022 Hit & Run – A construction worker at the new building near the Lane Center stopped into Headquarters to file a hit and run report. The construction worker stated that he was parked in the Old Police Lot and when he came back to retrieve his vehicle he noticed a dent, and multiple scratches with paint transfer on the vehicle. Officer reviewed the camera footage and a pickup truck pulling a trailer came around the old police building and passed near the construction worker’s vehicle and the trailer hit his vehicle. The driver stops and gets out to assess the damage to his trailer and then leaves campus but returns with the same truck without the trailer. The officer spoke with the construction worker about his findings, and he stated that he knows who the person is, and he wants nothing more done than a report.

09/15/2022 Breaking and Enter – Officers responded to Diehl Hall at the request of an RA. The RA believes someone may be staying in one of the rooms without permission. Investigation continues.

09/15/2022 Assist Other Agency – Officers responded to Powell’s Lane Apartments to assist FCPD with a domestic assault. Parties involved were separated prior to police arrival. FSUPD stood by while FCPD conducted the investigation.

09/15/2022 Narcotics Complaint – RA in Brownsville Hall contacted UPD requesting an officer for an odor of “weed”. Officer responded and the narcotics complaint was unfounded.

09/17/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to W. Main St at the request of Frostburg City Police to assist with traffic control due to a motor vehicle accident.

09/17/2022 Suspicious – While on patrol near the softball field, officers noticed a vehicle parked on the northbound lane side of the road. Officers recognized the vehicle from a prior parking complaint and that the owner had a protective order against him for Edgewood Commons. The subject stated he was picking up a friend who lived in Edgewood Commons and he did not want to violate the protective order. It was determined he had not violated his order. Officers advised him in the future to have his friend meet him at the stadium lot or P.E. lot.

09/17/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to the intersection of First Street and Lemmert’s Alley to assist FPD with an individual passed out behind the steering wheel of a running vehicle. FSUPD officers stood by while a probable cause search was conducted.

09/18/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to Main St to assist FPD with a disturbance of a female screaming. Upon FSUPD’s arrival, FPD was on the scene. Officers were not able to locate the source of the noise.

09/18/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to the area of Stoyer Street and Alley #41 to assist FPD with a motor vehicle crash.

09/19/2022 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Diehl Hall to contact a RA who had opened a room on the third floor when she detected a foul odor coming from the area. The room was to be vacant. Inside the room was evidence someone had been ‘squatting’ in the room for some unknown period of time. Based on some of the property left behind, a possible identification was made on the ‘squatter’. This subject currently has an active warrant through the ACSO. It is not believed the subject is still ‘squatting’ in Diehl Hall and attempts to locate him on campus have been met with negative results. Subject was an FSU student last semester but is not currently enrolled.

Summary period includes 130 calls for service and 6 traffic stops
