Crime Lines 09/20/2022 – 09/26/2022
09/20/2022 Attempt Warrant Svc / Prisoner Transport - Officers were contacted by IT informing that the wanted subject with an active warrant through ASCO was shown using the WIFI network in the Cordts P.E. Center. Contact was made with the subject, a former student. The subject resisted arrest and attempted to flee. The subject was arrested and transported to University Police and then Central Booking at ACDC.
09/20/2022 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Gray Hall for items believed in the room belonging to the subject that was wanted by ACSO. Among other items, a cat was retrieved and placed in a cat carrier. Animal Control retrieved the animal. The investigation is continuing.
09/20/2022 Damage to Property – A FSU student came into Headquarters to report damage to her vehicle. Her vehicle was struck by the door of another vehicle on Environmental Drive. Officers made contact with the suspect of the other vehicle through a plate provided by the complainant. The driver of the suspect’s vehicle advised he would come into Headquarters to provide all necessary information on 9/21/2022. Investigation is ongoing.
09/21/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD responded to State Street Lot at the request of FPD as they were investigating a hit & run. Suspect vehicle possibly in State Street Lot. FSUPD stood by while FPD conducted the investigation. The vehicle in question was not the vehicle they were looking for.
09/22/2022 Narcotics Complaint - Officers responded to the Cumberland Lot for a reported narcotics complaint. The complainant advised “hotboxing” was taking place in the vehicle. Upon arrival the officers made contact with the sole occupant in the driver’s seat. The driver, an FSU student, was texting on her phone. There were no indications that illegal narcotic activity was taking place within the vehicle.
09/23/2022 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Gray Hall for a subject that was not supposed to be in the building. The subject advised he was in Gray Hall to use the showers as he has most of the semester. J-Board referral submitted. The subject was also issued a Trespass Notice for Gray Hall.
09/23/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) - Officers responded to E. College Avenue for a reported natural gas leak in a residence. Upon arrival, FPD requested that FSUPD conduct traffic control at the intersection of E. College Avenue and University Drive. Frostburg Fire Department arrived on scene, conducted their investigation, and then cleared within approximately fifteen minutes.
09/24/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) - FPD requested assistance to Hurry Back for a disturbance in progress.
09/24/2022 Fraud – An FSU student came into headquarters to advise he has been contacted by an individual demanding funds via Snapchat for nude pictures that he had sent. Officers advised him not to send any money. The investigation was referred to FSU Police investigator.
09/25/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) - While patrolling Center Street, the officers overheard a radio transmission of FPD being dispatched to Center Street for a possible house fire. FSUPD arrived on scene behind FPD. FSUPD assisted FPD in doing a 360 evaluation of Center Street during which a discarded smoke detector was discovered in the backyard of Center Street. The detector was able to be silenced and no hazardous situations were observed.
09/26/2022 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a male non-student sleeping on the couch in the lounge area. The subject, a student’s guest, stated he was on the couch because it was cooler than the room, he was staying in. He was advised he had to leave the dorm today 09/26/2022.
09/26/2022 Damage to Property – Officers responded to Lowndes Parking Lot for a reported hit and run. The suspect’s vehicle was later located, and contact was made with the driver of the vehicle. Information exchange was completed. After speaking with the complainant, she advised she did not wish to pursue charges in reference to the incident.
09/26/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) - FSUPD assisted FPD in serving a warrant on McCulloh Street.
Summary period includes 118 calls for service and 4 traffic stops
