Crime Lines 09/6/2022 – 09/12/2022

09/06/2022 Theft- Misdemeanor – A student came into Headquarters to report that his scientific graphing calculator was stolen while he was in Compton. The individual advised he stopped in the men’s room in that hallway and placed his notebook and calculator on the water fountain outside of the men’s room. Upon exiting the men’s room, the notebook was the only item left.

09/06/2022 Animal Complaint – Officers notified Headquarters that two (2) females found a black and white dog that was loose on Bowery / College Avenue. Animal Control was contacted, and they retrieved the dog.

09/06/2022 Hit & Run – Officers responded to Pullen Hall Lot for a reported hit and run. Contact was made with the complainant who advised that upon returning to his vehicle he noticed damage to the front passenger side fender directly above the wheel well. A review of the Oculars camera footage revealed only one vehicle parking next to the subject’s vehicle. The vehicle did not appear to strike the complainant’s vehicle. There were no other vehicles that parked beside the complainant’s vehicle. The complainant was notified of the findings.

09/06/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Westminster Hall for a “strong smell of weed”. After a walk through was conducted, no odor could be detected.

09/09/2022 Damage to Property – An FSU student walked into Headquarters to report damage of property in her dorm room by her ex-boyfriend. At this time, the student was not sure if she wanted any criminal charges brought against the ex-boyfriend. She was provided with a victim rights pamphlet and the officer explained how to file charges if she wanted to do so at a later date. Officers escorted her back to her vehicle to inspect it to make sure it had not been damaged and to make sure the ex-boyfriend was not in the area. The complainant was not staying in her campus dorm for the evening.

09/10/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – A juvenile boy walked into FSUPD Headquarters stating that his mom scratched him and pulled him by the arm. FPD was notified and arrived at headquarters to conduct their investigation and transport him back to his residence.

09/10/2022 Request for Officer – Officers met with a student who had questions regarding a protective order. She advised she was in a toxic relationship and things have verbally heated up between the two. He has not threatened her. She was given a Victim’s Rights pamphlet and her District Court rights were explained regarding a Protective Order, CAPS and Domestic Violence Hotline services. She was advised to cease all communications with the subject. Title IX was sent a copy of the IR. Boyfriend is not a student.

09/11/2022 Check on Well Being – An RA advised of a possible intoxicated student walking in the hallways. Officers responded and conducted a walkthrough. Subject was not located.

09/11/2022 Request For Officer – Officers responded to Edgewood Commons for a disturbance. The male subject was escorted out of the building and was advised not to come back to the building and not to contact the victim. He left without incident.

09/11/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – At the request of FPD, FSUPD responded to Hill Street for a reported suicide.(non-student) FSUPD assisted with interviewing subjects and stood by for police presence.

Summary period includes 124 calls for service and 5 traffic stop.
