Crime Lines 10/11/2022 – 10/17/2022
10/13/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officer assisted FPD unit at Chessie Federal Credit Union with a 9-1-1 Hang Up call. FPD dispatch attempt several call-backs with no success. Upon officers’ arrival, they were able to make contact with Chessie employees who advised there were no problems. One of the employees accidentally dialed 9-1-1 when attempting to send a FAX.
10/13/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD officers assistance was requested with a possible suicidal/homicidal subject due to FPD officers being delayed due to other calls. Officers responded to a residence on Mechanic St. and were able to make contact with the alleged perpetrator and his mother, with whom he resides. Officers spoke with the two independently of one another. It was determined there were no threats of suicides or homicides on this date. FPD officers arrived on scene and all information gathered to this point was relayed and scene turned over to them.
10/14/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – In the early morning hours, officers were requested by FPD in the area of Ormand and Broadway to assist with a DUI arrest. In addition to the driver, there were several passengers. The operator of the vehicle was arrested and charged with DUI/DWI. She is an FSU student.
10/14/2022 Found Property – A Safe Ride driver turned in a Cannon camera which was left on the van he was operating. He has no idea who could have left it behind.
10/14/2022 Noise Complaint – Approx. 3:30 a.m., received a call about a group being loud on the second floor of Annapolis Hall. Officers responded and did a walkthrough of the area and no noise on second floor. However, on the third floor they did come across a room where a group of students were being excessively noisy for the time of night. They were advised to keep it down.
10/14/2022 Lost Property – A FSU professor/coach contacted University Police to report his wallet and contents stolen. Professor said he had parked his vehicle in the Stadium Lot at a certain time for practice and he leaves his wallet in his vehicle during practice. Upon completion of practice and returning to his vehicle, he discovered his wallet missing. Officer was able to review the Occularis Security Video System and picked up the professor pulling in and parking. Officer was able to watch the vehicle the entire time it sat while professor was at practice and there was not any person around his vehicle. Officer also watched the area to see if he observed anyone stop and appear to pick anything up, like maybe the professor dropped his wallet, and he did not see any such thing. There was no theft which occurred while parked in the Stadium Lot. Carried as a Lost Property.
10/14/2022 Assist Other Agency (C3I) – Assisted C3I Investigators in conducting follow-up interviews related to the armed robbery which occurred in Westminster Hall October 1.
10/14/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officer responded to the 4th floor of Brownsville Hall for a reported odor of Marijuana. The officer could detect an odor in the hallway but could not detect where it was coming from.
10/16/2022 Open Container – While on patrol in the area of Center and Oak St., an officer observed a male subject carrying an open bottle of Hennessey Liquor. Officer attempted to inform the subject about the alcohol ordinances and requested he dispose of the remaining alcohol. The subject began questioning the ordinances and the legality of the officer’s request. Officer requested the subjects ID. Subject denied having an ID on him and gave a certain name. After some period of a back and forth and the officer advising the subject, he had run the name and it was not a valid name, the subject produced an FSU Student ID. It was learned he was under the legal age to possess alcohol. While the subject was in violation of a number of offenses, the officer only cited him for the Open Container violation and referred him to J Board.
10/16/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officer assisted FPD and ambulance personnel with a subject who was allegedly having a seizure. The officer had just cleared the Open Container call when this call came out right down the street. Officer travelled down and was directed to the alley behind The Beach Club where he found a male subject laying on the ground appearing to be seizing. Several bystanders said he had just fallen off of a ‘balcony’ in the rear of a house located on Center St. The ‘balcony ‘appeared to be about 6 feet off the ground. An ambulance arrived and the subject told their personnel he had smoked marijuana earlier and he had wanted to harm himself. FPD did an Emergency Petition on the subject. The subject is not an FSU student.
10/16/2022 Harassment – Subject walked into FSUPD to report a Harassment and Extortion. The subject said she recently met this person on Snapchat and has been corresponding for some time now through different forums. This other person sent her unsolicited pics of her breasts. The following day additional sexually explicit phots were sent. The person demanded $200.00 from the complainant, or they would release the video. She did not pay and is not paying the $200.00. She is cutting all contact with this person.
10/16/2022 Assist Other Agency – Officer assisted the Governor of PA’s Executive Protection Detail with a tour of campus and walk through of the Lane Center prior to Monday’s scheduled events.
10/17/2022 Theft – A FSU student came into headquarters to speak with an officer about his Elite Impulse Compound Bow and arrows missing from his truck. Student said his truck has a ‘camper top’ on the bed, but he is unable to secure it due to him losing the key. The bow and arrow were in the bed of the truck. Student said on 10/12 he went to his truck which was parked in the Cumberland Lot and noticed the camper door open and the bow and arrows missing. Officer checked Occularis Video System and unable to locate any activity around vehicle.
Summary period includes 125 calls for service and 9 traffic stops
