Crime Lines 11/01/2022 – 11/07/2022

11/01/2022 Traffic Accident – Officers were dispatched to the Edgewood Parking Lot for a vehicle accident. Contact was made with the complainant who advised he inadvertently struck another vehicle while attempting to park his vehicle. The owner of the second vehicle was contacted and was provided with an FSU Traffic Accident information Form.

11/01/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers responded to Bobcat Court to assist FPD with a report of a possible domestic assault involving non-FSU student juveniles. FSUPD stood by while FPD investigated the incident.

11/02/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers were dispatched to Cumberland Hall for a report of an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival a strong odor was detected. After a walk-through, officers were able to detect odor emitting from a specific room. Negative contact was made with the resident of the room in question. Judicial Board referral was submitted.

11/03/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPS) – Officers responded to Spring Street for a mental status change involving an FSU student. The male subject was transported voluntarily to UPMC. A judicial board referral was submitted.

11/03/2022 Emergency Petition – Officers were dispatched to Edgewood Commons in reference to a female resident leaving a possible suicide note. Contact was made with the complainant who presented the handwritten note. Contact was made with the female FSU student as she returned to Edgewood. Due to the note and statements made to the officers the female was transported to UPMC and officers completed a petition for an emergency evaluation.

11/04/2022 Request For Officer – Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall for a male student refusing to leave the building after being requested to do so by a Resident Assistant. Contact was made with the subject who indicated he was a visitor at FSU. The subject could not remember the name of the individual his friend was staying with. She was a resident of Westminster Hall. The officers requested he leave the building he did comply. Shortly thereafter the subject in question was seen with a female. She was identified as a female student who resided in Westminster. The two were walking to her room to retrieve the non-FSU student’s phone. An officer escorted her while the male non-FSU student did wait on the outside of the building. The female FSU student did advise the male in question was the friend of her boyfriend who was visiting; however, she did not know his name. Later it was observed on the Ocularis Camera System that the male individual from the original call was seen entering Westminster again and later leaving with two other individuals, walking through the parking lot heading towards State Street Lot.

11/04/2022 Request For Officer – Officers responded to Frampton Hall for a report of juveniles throwing rocks. Upon arrival, officers made contact with two male juveniles at the main entrance of Framptom. Officers advised them about the complaint, to which they admitted they had been tossing decorative rocks at a stair railing. They advised them to not throw rocks, due to the chances of injury or damage. The juveniles cleaned up the rocks and no damage was caused. They left the area without incident.

11/04/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Edgewood for the complaint of an odor of marijuana on the 4th floor. Upon arrival, they made contact with an FSU student who reported to them that her roommate smokes marijuana every day and the apartment always smells like marijuana. Contact was madewith the subject of the room in question. She did state officers could enter her room and there was no marijuana in her room. Officers could not smell any odor of marijuana in the room or on the subject’s person. Call unfounded.

11/04/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FSUPD assisted FPD at Park Avenue to assist with a breaking and entering in progress. The suspects were gone upon the officer’s arrival. FSUPD assisted with clearing the residence and then officers stood by while FPD conducted the investigation. A female suspect, an FSU student was named and FPD attempted to contact her at Cumberland Hall. Judicial Board Referral was submitted.

11/04/2022 Assist Other Agency – Assisted FPD with a noise complaint of a dog outside barking for hours.

11/07/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers overheard FPD radio transmission of a 911 hang up with a possible disturbance. Officers responded. Upon arrival officers were flagged down on the sidewalk by a male subject who advised another male subject who was inside the dwelling had consumed alcohol with pills. FSU PD remained outside while FPD went inside to conduct an interview. Subject was ultimately transported to UPMC. No FSU students were involved.

11/07/2022 Check on Well-Being – Assistant Director of Residence Life requested a check on well-being of a subject with suicidal ideation and she has not been able to reach him. The male FSU student was contacted by phone and met with officers at his residence. While speaking with the subject, he advised he was fine. He showed no signs of emotional distress.

11/07/2022 Alcohol Violation – Officers responded to Brownsville Hall for a party with loud music and underage drinking. Contact was made with two individuals located in the room in question. All alcoholic beverages were disposed of. The two individuals were informed they would be receiving a notice from the Judicial Board for their conduct. While at the room in question, officers observed an individual turn abruptly after seeing the officers and walked into another room. Contact was made with the individuals in the room. Four male subjects provided ID’s and were all cooperative. None of these individuals appeared to be intoxicated and some of them reported being present but were not drinking. All parties involved were advised of the laws and FSU policies regarding underage drinking.

11/07/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers overheard transmission of FPD being dispatched to University Park Apartments for a subject (FSU Student) returning to a residence the location of an earlier domestic disturbance. FSUPD remained on scene and stood by during FPD investigation. Parties were separated for the night.

Summary period includes 115 calls for service and 13 traffic stops
