Crime Lines 11/29/2022 – 12/05/2022

11/29/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – While traveling on Rt. 36 officers observed two (2) vehicles strike two (2) different deer. Contact was made with all subjects involved who advised they did not need medical attention. Officers remained on scene until FPD arrived on scene and completed their investigation. Both vehicles drove from the scene.

11/30/2022 Sex Offense – Rape – A FSU student came into headquarters to report a sexual assault. The subject stated she was sexually assaulted on November 12, 2022, while inside her residence at Westminster Hall. She advised she went out with friends to a fraternity party, and she then left the party in her personal vehicle with a male subject that she met at the party. They both went back to her residence and had sex. She stated she did not want to have sex, but could not recall if she made this comment to the male subject or not. The student had already contacted the Title IX Director. C3I has been contacted and informed of this incident.

11/30/2022 Assist Other Agency – While FSUPD officer was on patrol he heard FPD respond to Bowery Ext for assistance removing a female subject from the residence who did not establish residency and was asked to leave. The female became somewhat agitated towards officers on scene and began to raise her voice. Once the female left the area without incident all officers cleared.

11/30/2022 Assist Other Agency – FSUPD assisted FPD with traffic control until a tow truck loaded a vehicle.

12/01/2022 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for an odor of CDS. A walk through was conducted. No odor was detected.

12/02/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers were dispatched to the area of Washington Street at Greene Street to assist FPD with a barricade situation. Officers stood by and provided traffic control and scene security while ACSO made entry and took the subject into custody. Non-FSU student.

12/02/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Officers were dispatched to Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision. FSUPD assisted with traffic control as FPD handled the collision. One FSU student was involved.

12/03/2022 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – FPD requested back up on Hill Street for a possible domestic with a 911 hang up. Contact was made with individuals in the house, parties were separated and advised of their District Court Rights. No further action taken by this department. Non-FSU students involved.

12/03/2022 Assist Other Agency / Traffic Accident – (FPD) FPD requested officers to respond to a motor vehicle collision in the rear of the Hotel Gunter due to all FPD officers participating in the holiday parade. Contact was made with both parties and were provided with a case number and their contact information. The subject was not interested in pursuing any charges in the incident.

12/03/2022 Assault – Officers were advised of a walk-in complaint who stated she was involved in an altercation that was provoked during a discussion of religious beliefs on same sex marriages. The assault was between two (2) FSU students in Brownsville Hall. During the confrontation, a water bottle was thrown at one of the individuals with her being able to bat the bottle away before it struck the individual. Parties were separated and the victim, FSU student, was placed into a temporary room in Brownsville Hall. The Resident Director and the Dean of Students were made aware of the incident. The victim who did not wish to pursue assault charges, was provided a Maryland Crimes Victim’s pamphlet with the incident report for her records. Judicial board referral was submitted.

12/03/2022 CDS – Headquarters received a call from an RA who advised of an alarm sounding in Brownsville as well as the smell of marijuana in the same area. Upon arrival the alarm was silenced and reset without an issue. Contact was also made with the FSU student in the room in question. The student admitted smoking marijuana with his friend and handed over the suspected marijuana. The FSU students were reminded of the FSU conduct regarding smoking in the dorms and on campus. A Judicial Boards referral was submitted for both subjects.

12/04/2022 Extortion – An FSU student walked into Headquarters to advise he received a threatening message demanding money over two different social media platforms. There was no money exchanged. He was advised to keep the accounts blocked as it seemed like a scam to obtain money from him. He was provided this case number for his records along with a Maryland Crimes pamphlet with internet crimes complaint resources.

12/05/2022 Damage to State Vehicle – Officers responded to the Stangle building at the request of the Garage Supervisor. As the supervisor was completing a check of the fleet vehicles, he observed damage to a vehicle. The fleet rental log revealed an FSU Staff member was in possession of the vehicle when she scrapped a side of the vehicle in a parking garage. Officers sent an email to the FSU Staff member requesting her to complete a State Vehicle Accident Information Form which she acknowledged she would on 12/6/2022.

12/05/2022 Traffic Accident – Officers responded to Lowndes Lot for two vehicles that were backed against each other. Officers made contact with both drivers who were FSU students.

Summary period includes 103 calls for service and 10 traffic stops
