Crime Lines 11/30/2021 – 12/06/2021
11/30/2021 Traffic Accident – Officers responded to the entrance of Edgewood Commons for a vehicle that had struck the guardrail and was unable to move. Contact was made with the driver. The FSU student was not injured, EMS was not required. Officers moved the vehicle to a safe area. Vehicle sustained damage to the front and rear right side however was operational and was driven from the scene.
11/30/2021 Traffic Accident – Officers were dispatched to Diehl Lot for a possible Hit and Run. The vehicle in question had damage in the trunk area. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle that was struck and she advised she has already contacted the individual that hit her vehicle. Insurance information had already been exchanged and they were handling the accident.
12/01/2021 Request for Officer – Officers responded to the Lane Center for a report of individuals hindering access to the SECU ATM machine. An individual reported issues with the ATM and was put in contact with the local branch of SECU.
12/01/2021 Damage to State Vehicle – Headquarters was contacted to advise that an FSU fleet van had been involved in a motor vehicle collision in Cumberland. The FSU van was occupied by 5 FSU students who were reportedly not injured. The operator of the other vehicle involved had been transported to UPMC for treatment. CPD handled the incident.
12/01/2021 Request for Officer – Officers were requested at Annapolis Hall for a suspected physical altercation outside Annapolis Hall. Investigation revealed no altercation had occurred.
12/02/2021 Fraud – Credit/Lease – Officers responded to HQ to speak with a complainant regarding a stolen wallet. The FSU student stated he noticed his wallet was missing after he left the PE Cordt’s gymnasium. A freeze was placed on a bank card through Wells Fargo however there were already two charges pending for purchases he did not make. The investigation is continuing.
12/02/2021 Narcotics Complaint – Westminster Hall – Officers performed a walk-through of the 4th floor of Westminster after receiving a complaint of an odor of CDS. Officers were unable to detect any odor in the area.
12/02/2021 Fraud – Officers met with an employee of FSU in the FSU PD Headquarters regarding fraud. The employee received an e-mail requesting him to purchase four gift cards in the amount of $100 from 7-11. The complaint complied and responded to the e-mail request. At this time, he was then asked to purchase another four. The subject then felt he was being scammed which led him to file a police report. The original e-mail was not sent from an FSU e-mail account. Contacts have been initiated to stop payments on the gift cards also the cards are now flagged as fraud so the scammer cannot use them.
12/03/2021 Skateboard Complaint – While conducting premise checks officers observed three male subjects skateboarding in front of Framptom Hall. Contact was made with the subjects, and they were advised skateboarding was not allowed on campus. They apologized and left the area. The three individuals were not FSU students.
12/03/2021 CDS – Officers responded to Westminster Hall for an odor of CDS. Contact was made with an FSU student in the area from where the odor was coming. Officers were granted permission to enter the room. Upon entering officers immediately noticed a black and orange ‘Splat-R-Ball’ pellet gun that had been spray painted black in plain view. This item was seized along with CDS paraphernalia and transported to FSU PD. J-Board referral submitted.
12/04/2021 CDS – While conducting a lock opening at Guild, officers observed an exterior window to be open on the East side of the building in the basement. Upon responding to the room to secure the window a strong odor of marijuana was detected. Suspects were identified and contacted in Diehl Hall where they provided information regarding smoking of the marijuana. Officers confiscated a small amount of marijuana and several items of paraphernalia. The two individuals were referred to the judicial board.
12/06/2021 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Westminster Hall for an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival officers entered the residence quad location where a strong odor of marijuana could be detected. A J-Board referral was submitted based on the officers observations.
Summary period includes 144 calls for service and 2 traffic stops.
