Crime Lines 2/4/2020 – 2/10/2020

02/04/2020 – Information Headquarters was contacted regarding an offensive twitter post, with video.  After observing the information involved in this case, it was determined the content may be highly offensive to individuals Further disposition was did not meet the criteria for a hate crime under the law.  The case was referred to the Judicial Board.

02/04/2020 – CDS While conducting a foot patrol of Diehl Hall an odor of marijuana was detected.  Investigation revealed evidence that individuals had been smoking marijuana in the bathroom.

02/04/2020 – Request for Officer – Officers responded to Frost Hall for a possible odor of marijuana on 2nd floor.  Upon arrival Officers could smell cigar smell not that of any CDS, the source was not located.   

02/05/2020 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a student advising there was an unknown number of individuals outside his door yelling and playing videos of him on social media out loud, right outside of his door.  Upon arrival Officers could not see anyone in the area.

02/07/2020 Information – While responding to a CDS incident in Annapolis Hall Officers observed a shopping cart in one of the parking spaces.  Being familiar with the cart that RLS had purchased in the Summer of 2019 for residents to utilize during move in, it was believed to belong to RLO.  After reviewing the video surveillance, two male students were observed with the cart in Westminster.  Positive identification was made from RLS verifying the cart belonged to Residence Live Office.  The Residence Life Office will follow up.

02/07/2020 Damage to State Vehicle – Headquarters was contacted in regards vehicle #12 being struck in the windshield with road abrasives while traveling westbound on Interstate 68. The vehicle was still operable.  Upon returning to headquarters the driver completed a Motor Vehicle Accident form.  

02/07/2020 Robbery – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall regarding a robbery. Upon arrival contact was made with several students and detailed interviews were obtained from the victims and witnesses. The investigation is continuing, and a suspect has been identified.

 02/08/2020 Traffic Accident – Officers observed a vehicle in the middle of University Drive at Edgewood Commons.  The vehicle had struck the curb while turning onto the Edgewood roadway. There were no injuries.  

02/08/2020 Noise Complaint    Officers responded to Frederick Hall for a noise complaint.  Upon entering the quad faint noise could be heard coming from a television.  Contact was made with the subject who stated they would turn it down. 

 02/08/2020 Assist Other Agency – A female student entered headquarters advising she was assaulted on Wood Street.  FPD was notified and arrived at FSUPD.  FPD conducted the interview.     

02/08/2020 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for an admitted subject who has not registered for classes yet was refusing to vacate the dorms as previously agreed.  After consultation with Mr. Graham it was determined that the student would remain until notified in writing on Monday that he must leave.

02/08/2020 CDS – RD contacted headquarters after locating possible CDS during a room check in Frederick Hall. As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board referral was been submitted.

02/09/2020 CDS While conducting a traffic stop in Edgewood Commons Lot the odor of burnt marijuana was coming from the vehicle.  As a result of the investigation a warning was issued for a traffic violation and CDS paraphernalia was recovered.

02/09/2020 Warrant Service for ACSO – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall to attempt to serve a warrant.  Contact was made and the subject, an FSU student, was arrested without incident.  Judicial Board referral was submitted.

02/09/2020 CDS While conducting a foot patrol in Diehl Hall officers detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from a first-floor residence.  As a result of the investigation Judicial Board referrals were submitted.

02/10/2020 Traffic Arrest While traveling on University Drive in the area of the Planetarium, a vehicle entered the roadway off Planetarium Drive without yielding to Police vehicles.  As a result of the stop several traffic violations were cited.

02/10/2020 Disturbance Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for a report of disturbance that happened approximately four (4) days prior.  As a result of the investigation a Judicial Board referral was submitted.

Summary period includes 176 calls for service and 5 Traffic Stops
