Crime Lines 8/18/2020 – 8/24/2020

08/18/2020 Traffic Accident – Officers responded to the new residence hall parking lot where the operator of the FSU trash truck had backed into a student’s vehicle.  No injuries were reported.  The driver of the trash truck filled out the state vehicle accident report form.  

08/18/2020 Traffic Accident While on the previous accident officers were advised by a witness that another vehicle backed into a parked car in the same lot, New Residence Hall, and was trying to leave.  Contact was made with the driver, an FSU student.  Minor damage did occur. No injuries.  An FSU Police Motor Vehicle Collision Information Exchange Form was completed and given to both parties.

08/20/2020 Harassment – FSUPD was contacted by a parent to advise his daughter was being harassed by another student.  As a result of the investigation a Judicial Referral was submitted.

08/20/2020 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Westminster for a suspected odor of marijuana.  A walk through was conducted no odor was detected.        

08/21/2020 CDS – Officers were requested to respond to Frederick Hall for an odor of CDS.  Officers were unable to make contact with any individuals in the original complaint.  

08/21/2020 Tampering W/ Fire Equipment – Officers responded to 2nd Floor Frost Hall for a discharged extinguisher.  The extinguisher was replaced.

08/21/2020   Traffic Arrest – While patrolling on Charles Street at the intersection of Center, a vehicle was observed traveling at a high rate of speed.  Officers conducted a traffic stop.  The non-student driver did not produce a driver’s license, a check through M.E.T.E.R’s revealed suspended driving privileges.  Citations were issued.

08/21/2020 Open Container – While patrolling Oak Street, an FSU student was observed carrying an open container.  Officers advised the subject, an FSU student, who was underage to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages until she turned 21 and not to carry an open container in public.  Contact was later made with the same subject on Wood Street where she was in possession of an open container.  She was reminded again to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.  The student was referred to the judicial board.

08/21/2020 Knock and Talk – Officers spoke to several individuals regarding open container laws.

08/21/2020 Resisting Arrest – Upon arriving at the intersection of Wood Street, three males were observed carrying red plastic cups.  Contact was made with one of the individuals while the other two began to walk away.  An additional officer was requested.  The subject in question could not provide any identification.  As the officer was preparing a civil citation the subject began walking around the front of the residence.  Officers then observed the subject running towards College Avenue.  A BOLO was issued. However, the subject was not located.

08/21/2020 Alcohol Violation – While assisting FPD with a fight on Maple Street, a male subject exited the party and started yelling profanities at the officers.  He was asked to leave the area.  The subject returned and continued to yell.  Upon making contact with the subject a strong odor of alcoholic beverage was present.  The subject, not an FSU student, voluntarily submitted to the P.B.T.  As a result, the subject was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage under 21 years of age. 

08/22/2020 Damage to Property – Officers observed a cracked exterior window while on foot patrol around the Guild Center, Frostburg State University.  A work order has been submitted for window replacement. 

08/22/2020 CDS – While on an unrelated call Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana on the first floor of Edgewood Commons.  The odor was strong throughout a large part of the first floor. Officers could not locate a possible source location, or locations.  The RA was notified, the scene was cleared.

08/23/2020 Assisted Other Agency (FPD) – Officers assisted FPD with a DUI (not a student) in front of Hi-Way Pizza.

08/23/2020 CDS – Officers were called to Frederick Hall for an odor of CDS.  Odor was not found. 

08/23/2020 CDS – Officers were dispatched to Westminster Hall for an odor of CDS.  After performing a walkthrough, a slight odor of marijuana was detected in the hall that dissipated quickly.  The Officer could not determine where the slight odor was coming from.  Contact was made with the RA.

08/24/2020 Assist Motorist– Officers assisted a subject in Guild Lot with keys locked in his vehicle.

Summary period includes 146 calls for service and 1 Traffic Stop.
