Festival Life
It’s that time of year again! With the 2018 – 2019 school year coming to an end, it is time for Frostburg State University (FSU) to host its annual spring festival. Each year the university hosts this event to give students the chance to enjoy time with their friends and unwind. The festival is held during the spring semester and is usually set up in the upper quad of the campus. This year’s festival was titled “Del Sol” and was held on Saturday, May 4. The festival was scheduled to take place in the upper quad of the FSU campus. However, due to a forecast of inclement weather, the university opted to move the activities indoors to the Lane University Center.
FSU’s Spring festival included things like a balloon artist, an inflatable surfboard simulator, and everyone’s favorite, free food. The real highlight of the festival were the performances that occurred on the main stage. The university allowed students to hit the main stage and showcase the talent of some of their organizations. Some of the student organizations had tables during the event with different activities for their fellow bobcats.
Beginning at 11 a.m., students were invited to come out and enjoy the free on-campus event with their friends, as well as support some of their friends who were performing. The FSU Strutters, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., and Visual Couture all graced the stage with wonderful performances. Students were eager to have a day of stress-free fun and relaxation. The event was put together by the University Programming Council (UPC). We here at The Bottom Line would like to thank the University Programming Council for hosting such a great event. We cannot wait to see what other events the council has in store for the end of the semester.
