First Year Zach Harpel Takes Win Over Concord

Frostburg State University (FSU) Men’s soccer took the road to play Concord again this past Wednesday. Within the first 15 minutes of play, junior Isaiah Dell scored the first goal of the game. While play continued, there were not many shots on goal for either team. Keeping the lead, Frostburg went into halftime with a 1-0 lead over Concord.

The second half started with more intensity as each team caused the other team’s keeper to make saves. With each team taking more shots, it was only a matter of time before Concord was able to equalize. In the 80th minute, Micheal Shelor scored for Concord, making the game 1-1. Frostburg, however, did not want to go to overtime and first year midfielder Zach Harpel scored the game-winning goal in the 88th minute, with an assist from Bryce Costello.

Frostburg will play at home this Saturday for homecoming against Wheeling University.
