Frostburg rolls past Alderson Broaddus 45-7
The Frostburg State University Bobcats traveled to Alderson Broaddus this past Saturday for their week 9 matchup.
Alderson started off the game with a touchdown early on in the first quarter giving them a 7-0 lead. This was thanks to a Jaylen McNair 5 yard touchdown. Those turned out to be the only points in the game that Alderson would score. Later on in the first quarter, Frostburg quarterback Graham Walker took the ball in himself for a 3 yard touchdown run making it 7-7. Within under a minute in the second quarter Josh Maxwell helped Frostburg extend their lead by a 29 yard touchdown run, making the score 14-7. Frostburg would add on another touchdown then thanks to Malik Morris as Walker would connect with him on a 33 yard touchdown pass. Frostburg got the ball back before the end of the half and they drove down the field, giving their kicker Dayne Koontz a chance to connect on a 37 yard field goal making it a 24-7 game at the break.
Frostburg started with possession in the second half, and they scored on a 5 yard touchdown run making it 31-7. Frostburg would connect on another touchdown early in the fourth quarter as Malcolm Facey scored on a two yard touchdown run making it 38-7. Frostburg scored one more touchdown before the clock hit zero and went on to win 45-7, improving the Bobcats record to 8-1 on the season.
Redshirt freshmen Jeremiah Baxter had a career day with three interceptions on the game. The interception record was held since 1996 when former Bobcat football player Ron Wallace gained three interceptions. The Bobcats overall had another dominating performance and they continue to have success on both sides of the ball for all four quarters.
The Bobcats improved to 8-1, and will be at home for next weekend’s matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan in a 1:00 P.M. matchup.
