Frostburg Rolls Past Falcons 49-14

The Frostburg State University (FSU) Bobcats played visitors to the Fairmont Falcons this past Saturday on a rainy afternoon. Fairmont started the game with a long touchdown pass by Anthony Guercio to Jeremiah Taylor making the score 7-0.

Later on in the first quarter, Frostburg would get their first touchdown of the game, caused by Gavin Lavat who landed a 6 yard touchdown making the score 7-7 with about 5:53 left in the first quarter. Gavan Lavat had a monster start to this game for the Bobcats as he would rush for three touchdowns in the first 31 minutes of the game. Graham Walker would add to the touchdowns with a run of his own by scoring on a 6 yard touchdown run, making the score 28-7 early in the third.

Fairmont would make this game a little closer by a 22 yard touchdown pass from Guercio to Javon Hayes making the score 28-14, but the Bobcats still responded with a touchdown of their own. Later on in the third, the Frostburg offense would still continue to score which led to Gavin Lavat scoring another touchdown, leaving the score at 35-14 with about four minutes remaining in the third quarter.

Lavat would add one more rushing touchdown to his list early on in the fourth making it 42-14, giving him 5 touchdowns that day. The Frostburg offense would proceed with one more touchdown in the game, this time performed by Isaiah Lester, who totaled up to a  24 yard pass to Lincoln Ikwubuo and would go on to seal the win on this game 49-14.

The Frostburg offense scored 49 points in total, with running back Gavin Lavat’s total incredible effort totaling up to rushing for 191 yards on 19 carries, and five touchdowns.

The Bobcats now improved to 7-1. As for Fairmont, they have fallen to 3-5.

The Bobcats will be back next Saturday, travelling to Alderson Broaddus.
